I'm not sure whether I should be relieved or livid. After not hearing anything back from my PEBLO, I finally got the Patient Advocate involved. Magically, I find out that my package was one of the ones indeed that had missing VA paperwork. This is after I had verified time and time again with my PEBLO that AFPC had ALL of the required documentation (I read the post about the numerous VA packages getting lost). She assured me every single time that AFPC had everything they needed and that I was good to go.
I found out not 30 minutes ago that AFPC received the required VA documentation YESTERDAY. This is after a month and a half of my PEBLO telling me that I should be getting the phone call "in about a week". My patient advocate also spoke with my case manager who told him that they should be finished with my package anywhere from a couple of days to about a week, and to engage with him directly if I dont hear anything by next Thursday. To all of you reading this: CONTACT YOUR PATIENT ADVOCATE IF YOU ARE GETTING THE RUN AROUND LIKE ME! He called me back within two hours of me contacting him. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I hear something soon...I'm going on day 359 (they should just throw the 295 day timeline pamphlet out the window, lol). Here is my updated timeline:
22 Aug 11 - Met with PEBLO / Initiate MEB
01 Sep thru 20 Oct 11 - C&P Exams
15 Dec 11 - NARSUM sent to MEB
05 Jan 12 - Commander's letter sent to MEB
20 Jan 12 - MEB found Unfit...referred to IPEB
24 Jan 12 - IPEB received MEB package
05 Jun 12 - VA Proposed ratings sent to AFPC
07 Jun 12 - TOLD that AFPC received proposed ratings
06 Jul 12 - Checked in with PEBLO...said I should hear something in a week. Also verified that AFPC had all required VA documentation. Was told I was good to go
13 Jul 12 - Checked in with PEBLO...said I should hear something in a week. Also verified that AFPC had all required VA documentation. Was told I was good to go
20 Jul 12 - Checked in with PEBLO...said I should give it two more weeks. Also verified that AFPC had all required VA documentation. Was told I was good to go. Ordered by CC to stop calling my PEBLO for updates.
14 Aug 12 - Called PEBLO for update. No new information, and seemed irritated to hear from me. Contacted patient advocate, and explained to him my entire MEB expierence. He replied by letting me know that AFPC ACTUALLY received my required documentation yesterday.
I feel almost like I wrote this post, I'm going through the exact same situation as you.
Quick timeline:
June 2011 - Code 37, MEB started
September 2011 - NARSUM finished
October 2011 - Was told NARSUM expired
December - NARSUM signed and package sent
January - Received by AFPC
March - Sent to VA(never officially notified of unfit rating)
9 May 2012 - Ratings complete
18 June 2012 - Called VA and got the ratings myself and had them faxed AND emailed to Randolph, was told "it wasn't enough"
18 July 2012 - PEBLO called Randolph for status, they said "it's in a pile, and should be back next week" I went on leave from then until today
7 August 2012 - Told "it's still in a pile", but it was "missing a page" and needed to be fixed before it could be adjudicated. They said "this week or early next week"(and I've heard this before a few times)
The uncertainty and waiting is CONSUMING ME. It is all I think about, and it's basically wrecking my quality of life. If I had been properly served I would have separated with plenty of time to get my affairs in order and start school this week. Instead, I'm still here, and have made ZERO progress in over 3 months. It's maddening. I'm actually in the same flight as the PEBLO, and I've been bugging him as much as I can without straining the working relationship. Yesterday I lost it and finally went to my Flight Commander and begged for her to intervene. She assured me she would get me an answer yesterday afternoon, but I still haven't heard anything. I know exactly how you feel, I need this resolved, STAT.
