K I'll try this again in another section of the forums to see if I'll get any feedback?!

Been lurking on the forums now for a while, trying to be proactive and find my own answers as it seems my DAWG has gone back and forth on me for a couple months now.

I'm at Hill AFB with a little over three years TIS. I originally joined for pararescue and got jacked up while on that path. Got washed out for having grade 4 stress fractures and stress changes (bulging) in both tibia. Shortly after they found that what I thought was a muscle issue was a pinched nerve due to bulging discs @ C5/C6 and C6/C7 and riduculopathy down right arm into R hand. They wanted to push MEB at this time(for spinal stenosis) but I was able to be retained and RE-classed.

Long story short, the back issue got worse and now I have disc protrusion at each/every disc from L1/L2 down to L5/S1 with a impinged nerve@S1 causing neuritis down both legs and even in my genitals on bad days, lots of weakness in the back of knees causing them to buckle.I've had a dozen or so epidural injections and 1 rhizotomy that was not successful.Neurosurgeons don't want to do surgery cause I'm young and it's not quite bad enough yet to risk, so I'm stuck in this pain management rut. also recently got diagnosed w/ major depression disorder and prescribed a low dose anti-depressant from MH.

I'be been on several DAWG meetings but hopefully they will finally come to a concrete determination soon? I was coded 37 as of 02AUG.NARSUM has been completed and sent on 16Aug according to my pcm. HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY WORD BACK YET.

Will these conditions likely warrant an unfit for duty? Any ballpark ideas of what kind ofVA ratings I'd be looking at?

Any input on what kind of time line I'm looking at @ this point ?

Thanks for any help!

this was taking from another thread....
basically what it is saying is that once your PCM updates your profile and the DAWG agrees with an MEB..... then your case will be forwarded to an IRILO or RILO panel and they decided if you need a full MEB which will take you through to your VA claims exams so on an so forth. Judging by the conditions you described i think you will be well above 50%. Use the following link http://www.militarydisabilitymadeeasy.com/search.php it will help you gauge and understand how the VA rates your specific conditions. I would start documenting how many days of work you miss and how these conditions hinder your ability to do your job especially if you are required to be medicated. Also document how your quality of life has declined as a result of your injuries.

Your commander will eventually have to submit a mission impact letter stating that you can not perform your duties and that there is a mission impact because of your conditions .

The RILO is unique to the AF.

Your PCM has written you a profile saying you have duty limitations. Since the limitations do not meet medical retention standards it sparks a RILO (the I is Initial, IRILO and RILO are used pretty interchangably). This is a high level review to decide if the AF believes you meet medical retention standards.

I do not know of any means of appealing an outcome if you met retention standards. Them deciding your limitations are acceptable and you are GTG is considered a positive outcome. They simply dismiss the case and note the condition doesn't warrant a IRILO or MEB. The instructions say:
Case dismissal does not preclude the Airman being considered for DAWG review again in the future for the same condition if the Airman’s status changes.
So the "appeal" is you getting a new profile.
If they decide you do not meet the standards, they will initiate an MEB. At the PEB level you have a right to appeal if they decide you are unfit. If they decide you are fit, you can request, but are not entilted to, an appeal to be found unfit.

Not sure on average timelines, but the RILO process should not exceed 45 days.
