Army NG Timeline 2021

Hi there. I am in a similar situation.
Here are the rough timelines.
June 18, 2021 : VA exam completed
July 20th Narsum signed
Aug 23 : The PEB found me "unfit" and has forward the case to the disability rating activity site (DRAS) for a rating decision.
Sep 7: VA closed my case, and website says they sent me the decision letter. I should be getting something in 2 weeks. I can see the rating in ebenifits and I am satisfied with the VA increased ratings. Lets see what PEB decides, hopefully accepts VAs rating.
Now as per my PEBLO From 23 August, this phase on average takes 90-120 days to complete. Once the VA completes its part, they will send my VA Decision Letter to me. The VA will also send the ratings back to the PEB for completion of my Informal PEB Proceedings (DA Form 199). Upon receipt of my informal PEB findings, I will be contacted.

So, I dont know what to make of this. I hope I dont have to wait for another 120 days.

Nothing is for sure. However I don't think you will. Now that the PEB has found you unfit it should move pretty quickly,....unless it gets tied up on someone's desk. Fingers crossed that does not happen to you. But after I got the 199 back it took about a week for me to get retirement services to reach out and they told me my retirement date is OCT 2 2021. I know the uncertainty is VERY stressful. But It will be over eventually. At least you have the hurdle of having the VA ratings. I am on the cusp of in between 90-100 so I dont know what they will give me for my final rating. My AB8 has not updated but I have heard it may not until final ratings come in if there is a change so who knows.

I know its hard to do but I eventually stopped becoming obsessed with it all. I know that is easier said then done but it will eat you alive if you let it. The stress isn't good for any of us during this process as it is our livelihood. But it will complete its course. What were your "unfit referred conditions" that went to the PEB?

Thanks for the quick response and the positive thoughts. I hope u get through the process quickly as well. I hope we all dont have to wait too long for the final rating. How long did it took for you to get ur 199 after PEB declared your unfit?
I started with 5 conditions:
Migraine (found fit)
Depression and anxiety (denied my MEB as it was not service connected by VA)
lumbar spine disc disease (Found unfit) & VA increased it from 10 to 40%
Paralysis of the sciatic nerve left leg (found unfit) & VA increased it from 0% to 10%
Paralysis of the sciatic nerve left leg (found unfit) & VA kept me to my initial rating which was 20%.
So i am hopeful that I might get atleast 30% from DOD. Lets see what happens.

My PEB convened on 26 Aug 21. I was informed aug 30 21 (the following Monday) my narsum was submitted to the PEB office on 29 June and I was found “unfit” July 20th.

So a little shy of 60 days. All of my unfit conditions were rated through the PEB however I don’t think that is a standard for everyone. My MOS is 19K which I’m sure plays a factor in their decision.

I just wrote a response to and got a response back from someone who just got out. They said it was 26 days after date of discharge when they got the final rating back. I believe the rule is the VA gives your rating 30 days after your discharge or sooner depending on workflow. But I think the 30 days is the deadline.

Sept 9th- Met with retirement services.
Talked about tricare options, got my orders

Oct 2nd- medical retirement date
I guess I’m a bit confused now. Is Retirement Services supposed to reach out to me? Or vice versa? Because no one has contacted me and you and I were pretty much running neck and neck on our timelines.

They reached out to me.

Yesterday I got my signed 199 back with final signature and my orders again through the PEBLO saying good luck and congrats. If your guard you can reach out to them. They are in family services. Mine share the family ID card office but I’m not sure if that is the same where you are.

Hello all,

So I started my Med Board on 5/10/21. I had to get a revised LOD. That process started June 2020 (See my other post on that mess). So really its been a long time coming. This is what I have so far. I stated this in another post as well, But when your VA MSC submits your paperwork to the VA keep a lookout on E-benefits for "exam request processing". You don't get an alert on this so you have to check it manually. But when it comes up, call QTC to schedule exams. They will ask your info etc. Hopefully save some time on some peoples cases. I know it did for me.

MEB referred conditions:

- Lumbar Spondylolisthesis w/ Sciatica
- Cervical Disc Displacement / Occipital Neuralgia
- Right Knee Patellar Tendonitis
- Migraine Headaches
- Major Depressive D/O

The Occipital Neuralgia and Migraines are one in the same. So I'm not sure why they are listed twice.

I already have ratings for these before starting the MEB Those are:

Lumbar Spondylolisthesis with retrolisthesis: -40%
Sciatica Left- 10%
Sciatica Right-10%
Cervical disc displacement:-10%
Right knee: -10%
Occipital neuralgia/ Migraines: -30%
Mental health -50%
Tinnitus- 10% ( this is not a referred condition)

For a current rating of 90%
I think most everything will be the same. Mental health and the Migraines/Occipital may go up. But who knows.
Paramount where did you you get the snazzy IDES timeline data

The attachment you had that showed your redacted case info?
So I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the Army shut down that tracking system for IDES. So it isn't available anymore. It was a great way to track your progress and get an estimate timeline for completion but they had some issues getting the data to update and shut it down with no notice and I doubt it will be back online anytime soon.

Oh yes. CMS. Hey Provis I was trying to find the link anyway, just in case it does go back online. Do you have it handy for this person in case it does come back? That really sucks they took it away. Not surprised though.
