Hello!

I received the findings 30/100 and got medically retired March 30th, 2014. On Feburary 22nd, 2014 the VA received a copy of my DD214 from the VA rep working with me during my PEB case. He told me to expect my first payment May 1st, but they didn't come(no shock). So I contacted the DAV to try to get everything in order. It turns out they lost my DD214 without even attempting to contact me keeping my file sitting in limbo. I faxed over a copy yesterday. Is it possible I'll still receive my benefits on time for June 1st? I've just moved across the country for my wife to go to school and I've been pending treatment for my back injury that has gone without a diagnoses.

Finalizing your ratings can't take up to 4 months, even if they had your DD214 back when you originally retired, it's possible you wouldn't even have your ratings finalized In order for you to be paid May 1st

I wasn't expecting them to have anything completed by May 1st. I have spoken to other Marines that have waited two months, but one never knows with the VA.
