Back injuries rating

Hello all, anyone have any input to offer on a possible rating? I have read most of the posts and from what i can see I am looking at a 20% rating. My packet was received at Ft Sam last week and I am hoping to get results next week but like everyone the anticipation is killing my family and I. This is my unfit dignosis:

They found me unacceptable for lumbar DDD. Herniated nucleus pulposus, facet syndrome and lumbar radiculitis. From what I have read on this site and other places this all gets grouped under the same condition and gets one rating, correct? From what I have seen that puts me into the ROM results for a rating, my ROM is fwd 34,35,35,38 and put in as the best at 38. The others are all low with a total under 120. From the rating scheme I see that puts me at only 20%, right?

No bed rest at all, will I get anything for the radiculitis? Hoping of course for a 30% rating but its not looking good from what i can gather.

The back is horrible for rating. I don't know why considering all of the issues that can stem from a back injury, and then they say the other stuff is "secondary" to the back injury. So, it's very retarded. All I can say is keep fighting for what you deserve. If you end up with less than 30% appeal it. Typically I would say that your ROM is going to give you 20%, but you could end up with 30-40%....

I have actually written my congressman about the back being rated so poorly thru the DOD and VA. He has contacted me and told me he plans to help change it. So hopefully someday soon we see some reform! Until then appeal appeal appeal. LOL! Sad but true! Keep your head up and keep us informed! GOOD LUCK

Termoil78, Sorry to hear of your back pain....its not anything nice.

So say ROM for 20% , I would hope radiculopathy could give you 10%.....could be 30% but its all how its all looked at by the big guys-you know.....Don't be too disappointed if it does come back for 20%-be PREPARED. Like nlaw said, you could disagree with the findings.

listen to what these 2 said. if i were you i would fight it w/all i have if i come up lower then 30%. there are alot of residual issues that come along w/a back injury. any issues w/depression, anxiety, sleep, etc.?
