The AF has found me unfit for the above condition. I have no idea how it is going to rate. Ive been on a no run, no walk profile for over a year and a half. The vascular surgeon said that there is no surgery that can correct my condition and said I can run no greater than 0 yards or briskly walk. I also get a lot of pain if I stay seated to long. The vascular surgeon told me there is nothing more he can do for me.

I guess my questions are:
Does anyone else have this condition?
Does anyone know how it rates?

Thank you so much for any help.

Its semantics, but it can be very important semantics. AF has referred you to a PEB to find if you are unfit. I know this because you don't have a rating yet. Most likely either a doc suspected you fail retention standards (started MEB) or has decided you fail retention standards (MEB done, NARSUM signed). This is different than unfit.

Your diagnosis obviously isn't in the VASRD, so they will rate it off the closest analogy based on the effects. It should depend on which possibility gives it the highest rating, but most likely it will simply depend on how the C&P examiner writes it up, although you can submit a different doctors note if you think the C&P examiner ignored a more serious effect.

My guess at what they'd use:
One of the codes about artery restriction - http://www.militarydisabilitymadeeasy.com/thearteriesandveins.html#restrict
One of the codes about muscle damage in the leg - http://www.militarydisabilitymadeeasy.com/buttockhipandthighmuscles.html

Rating will be really hard to guess until you see the C&P results. I am guessing the C&P exam hasn't happened yet, so it might be worth reading over different sections of the VASRD so you can guide the conversation towards the one that makes the most sense.

Others examples who have been rated for it may not be very helpful. My understanding is there can be a wide range of effects based on the extent of the artery problem.

thank you so much. Yeah I have already seen the C&P ortho doctor who was talking to me about it. I feel like he heard what he wanted to hear and will probably screw me over. I should meet with my peblo this week to read what they said at those appointments. Ill post an update

Thank you again for the links, upon reading it I hope they are rating me against the artery restrictions as I have a limp and difficulties when walking, loss of hair on my legs, cold feet, legs and feet turn purple if I sit or walk to long. I don't know what my brachial index finding were?

When you look at your C&P report on Friday see if the Doc mentions METS, he stated on mine that I had 3-5 METS based off of my symptoms and that rated me at 60% for my cardiac condition . I didn't even have to take a stress test for the VA to determine my mine. From my knowledge it plays a big role in cardiac rating percentages.

I don't even know what METS is but ill check. I know from looking at the code 7114 that scoutcc posted that hopefully i fall in the 60% for each leg..
