C&P exam

Just completed my general medical C&P exam. I felt it went pretty good. The examiner was pretty through and went through everything. Overall I feel pretty good about how it went.

Just one thing that is just kind of bothering me. When it was time to do ROM for shoulders, knees, and back she went very fast and didn't really do all the ROM. However during the exam I was experiencing a flare up of my back and legs. She did ask me to bend over and I explained to her I feel pain just standing here and she said don't worry about it I don't want you in anymore pain than you already are. She did use a gonoinometer for something on my back and for my knees. But not too much. Should I be worried or is this normal?

I understand by the book they should go through every single movement using the tool but I'm pretty sure most of them do not do this.

So if they believe that you would be put in excessive pain they are not supposed to force you to do it. With my back ROM they only had me bend forward one time instead of the repeated use that they would usually measure.

What did they put on the DBQ in ROM? Did it affect your rating at all? That's what I'm concerned about

So I'm currently in the PEB waiting for my ratings to come back now, and essentially your rating is gonna be heavily reflected by your ROM. My ROM for my back was 15 degree which falls in the 40% range. Anything under 30 degrees should reflect a 40% rating, anything past 30 degrees is considered 20% or less!

Yeah but she didn't even make me bend over cause I was in pain. So idk what she put on the ROM part. I told her I could attempt it and she told me don't worry cause I know you are in pain. She only did ROM for my knees. Not elbow or neck which I have bad neck pain as well and she noticed when talking to her I couldn't turn my neck. I asked her do you not need to do ROM for my neck and she said no cause I see your in pain just sitting there.

So it seems like the situation I stated above, your gonna have to wait until the DBQ is uploaded to your Tricare online documents tab. You will be able to look over it there. As well as any other DBQs that were done should be uploaded there as well. Go ahead and log on and check it once a day or every other day to make sure the examiners are doing their job, I ran into that issue and had to make multiple phone calls to figure out why it was not being sent eventually leading me to find out the examiner was faxing my results to the wrong place...

I had no clue the DBQ gets uploaded to tricare online. So basically if the DBQ looks good in my favor let it be. If it looks like examiner did not do a proper job at filling out the DBQ I need to complain and request a new exam? I am in the MEB process. I am not already out of service

Yes absolutely. I recommend taking any PII off of it and running it through chatgpt to reference the va rating criteria and it will give you a ESTIMATE of what you can expect. Thats what I did to help give me an idea of what ill get.
