Case at VA now, did IPEB found unfit?

Hello all newbie here, AF active duty

My case was accepted by the IPEB in April 15, 2014 and never heard anything back since. I called the VA line and was told that my case was accepted by the VA Providence, RI as of May 2, 2014. Does this means the IPEB found me unfit?

I have 4 referred conditions and 10 claimed conditions. Waiting my ratings anytime now.

Thanks for the feedback

Yes, if your claim is at the VA you were found unfit

Their are only a couple VA offices that handles Active Duty IDES claims and Providence one of them

Providence has one of the quickest turn around time, i believe that their average is around 136 days versus 169 at seattle.

As you imagine I get different information from:

PEBLO (AF) - After the case was accepted by the IPEB there are no updates until they complete everything

VA MSC - Currently, the case is still with the DoD side of the house and will remain there until they decide if your are fit or unfit for continued service

VA Phone Line - My package was accepted by Providence, RI couple of weeks ago.

VA IRIS - Generic response, refer back to PEBLO or MSC. Our records indicate a proposed rating has not been completed

I can't believe how much secrecy there is with this whole process. Bottom line: be proactive and be on top of your case. I will be giving a POA to the DAV to follow-up my case with the VA and hopefully they find out when the proposed ratings are finalized.

On top of that there are no plans to have me doing anything productive at my unit, after I was put thru the MEB it appears that my military career hit a stone wall. No one in the upper leadership seems to care, I requested to change assignment here for the remainder of my active duty time in the same base and have been ignored.

Ask your peblo about your unfit memo, just shows that you're unfit for duty and waiting on ratings.

Being USAF, they keep you guys out of the loop and I like to refer to the AF process as 100 shades of grey. It seems like they tell the PEBLOs and MSC's to not talk to you until you have to sign something. The DAV is the best move because they can find things out before your PEBLO, at least on the VA side... Once it goes back to the PEB you get sucked back into the black hole of non-information.
