Changing Legislation?

Hi again,

I heard at work that they were thinking about introducing legislation that would let a Soldier that had less than 20 years and was medically retired would be possibly able (in the future) to be able to draw Army medical retirement, CRSC (if qualified) as well as VA Disability without having to give the VA one's Army Medical Retirement.
I was wondering if anyone had heard of this or knows anything about it? Thanks guys.

Nick

The changes you speak about were made by the Dole/Shalala Commission. There were two bills recenty drafted in Congress that basically implemented the Dole/Shalala DES recommendations. One was by Senator Burr of North Carolina and the other was by Rep. Buyer from Indiana. I will try and find the bill numbers and post them.

I am hoping they will begin serious actions on these billls in January.
