I have been on a p2 and t3 for the last 3 months, needless to say its hard to do anything physical to lose weight. I have gained a few pounds and unfortunatly for me it is in my waistline. For those who havent read my earlier post, I have met with my case manager and she said they are going to move forward with my medboard. They are just waiting on a referral from Podietry. Once thats in place the ball starts rolling further. As soon as my command team found out they were going to move along with the med board proccess, they said they were going to tape me. I probably wont pass but i shouldnt have to worry right? my case manager said they can flag me all day and night but they cant chapter me as long as im going through the process of a medboard. Any one else hear this?

Your case manager is correct. As soon as you enter the IDES system, administrative actions to chapter take a back seat. All it affects is whether you get an ETS/Retirement award and doing college classes while in the process.

I am not sure if this is the same for all units, but my unit is removing my flag for weight and is currently processing my retirement award. I final out next Friday.

lol my unit is doing the opposite, as soon as they found out about my med board they are taping me. There was no talk of me getting taped until they (CoC) heard about the medboard being started. I will try my hardest to lose the weight anyways. but i just think its shady. Mind you, i have never been in trouble UCMJ or anything else in my 5 years in the army.

Well, Today it happend. I was flagged for 4 % over the allowed limit. I still have my refferal with my podietrist, then it should be smooth sailing after that. Hopefully everything is good.

I wouldn't worry about it if the MEB has been initiated. You'll get a new profile that is permanent. Basically mine states the only things I can do is wear my uniform and boots and ride in a vehicle. I don't have a tape issue but what they are doing will mean nothing soon. Don't stress about it. Just stay focused and keep your eyes on the prize. Continue to look to this site as your process goes along though. This site has been so helpful for each step. Good luck

No problem. My CoC told me they aren't going to tape me. I have been over my weight but have always been way under my BMI. I just lifted a lot so they know I would make it but either way they don't even weigh me anymore. The last time I was weighed was about a year ago LOL
