no. You can't get more than the combination of your VA compensation + Longevity pension. For regular retirees (20 or more years). A medical retirement isn't much of a help to regular retirees

Darn. So if VA comp is more than longevity pension, the entire pension is forfeit?
Yep. There isn't a benefit to a medical retirement if you have earned a regular one. You can't get paid for the same thing 2 times. If you have 20 years active duty time then there isn't any extra compensation to be had. There are a few extra perks if your DOD% is higher than your earned longevity but they are small. For example if you choose Tricare Select your annual enrollment fee is waived. That saves you $300 per year. Things like that.

You can't stack benefits. Same thing for CRSC. CRSC is there to help recoup money lost due to the VA offset mainly for those who don't reach 20 years. Though anyone can apply for CRSC if retired even those with 20 year active duty retirements. However, you can only get one between CRSC and CRDP. So for example, for those who's CRSC is high enough to match their CRDP they can get ahead because CRSC is tax free. The Gross pay is maxed out. You can't get more. But you can net more if you can go from taxed to untaxed.

But the bottom line is you will still get your 20 year pension and a monthly disability pay correct?

Essentially, you will still get the exact same benefits of a regular retiree with 20 years and xx% disability, not LESS right?
