Hi everyone!

I applied for PDBR in 2016. I followed up today, they responded and advised a decision had been made and I would hear from them in 60 days.

That being said, how does it work if I’m granted? I was med discharged in august of 2003. I didn’t apply for VA until 2012 and was awarded 100% T&P. So my question is, if awarded, would they back pay me the period between discharge and when I received VA money? 9 years?

This is unique since you did not receive VA compensation until 2012.

The effective date of approval will be a significant factor. I believe the PDBR will forward their decision to your former service for their actions, such as orders. The action at DFAS will likely take longer than usual.

At first glance, I think you will have a pay entitlement for those years.

Once the PDBR makes a decision, it still take months for the service to take action. As for the start date, I have not idea. @RonG worked at DFAS, so his answer is probably the best your are going to get.

I'm following. I wouldove to hear the outcome of the computations; since my situation is very similar. I was medically discharged in 2003 after 17.5 years at 0%. I also got 0% from the VA. I did not contact the VA again until 2019 and got 60%. I filed my dd294 in 5/21.
