So I just got my AFSC pulled, I can no longer be a cop with my bipolar diagnosis with PTSD. I am no longer security forces, I have no idea what I’m going to do now. On August 31st I was told my therapist was sending in a package for the MEB. I was put on a code 31 and I have not heard anything back since then. I’m still not code 37, the anxiety is absolutely terrible. What is the hold up? It’s been almost a month and I haven’t heard a single word, seen code 37 reflect on my profile or been assigned a PEBLO. Who do I even contact about this?

I found that throughout the MEB process everything seems to take way longer than it should but ofcourse there are also many things happening behind the scenes. That being said I HIGHLY recommend using the time you have to get smart on the process ahead of time like reading AFI 36-3212 and AFMAN 48-108 or researching how the VA may rate your condition and/or identifying other injuries you may have incurred during service to claim. This will be extremely valuable in that not only will you know what is coming next or where the hold up is and who to contact, but you will be covering your ass and making sure you get the best possible outcome as the results of this MEB will likely affect the rest of your life. Going through my MEB was one of the most stressful experiences of my life so I feel your pain! Best of luck!

It will take lots of time at most every step in the process. Work on something you have control over. You have almost no control over the process other than making all your appointments timely. Work on yourself. Learn to handle your anxiety better. Work on being ready to exit the AF. Work on being ready to enter a non-LEO job in the civilian world. Focus on what you control!
