Confused

I am in the IDES, I have finished my physical, I went to the physician and had my Narsum read to me, although I did not sign, I was told by the physician that did my physical that I would be hearing back in about a month. O K the big confusion is my PEBLO told me the next time she sees me I will be signing my Narsum and my packet will be sent off to FOrt Sam. Do I have to have the VA rating before it goes to Sam, or what? How long are VA ratings taking, been in the development stage about a month?

Once your NARSUM is complete and you are found unfit by the MEB your packet will go to the PEB at Fort Sam. They will find you fit or unfit. If unfit, they will request ratings from the VA. The time frame for the VA to decide on percentages varies by complexity of case. Mine took about a month if I recall. The PEB will determine TDRL, PDRL, or seperation based on these ratings from the VA.

Keep in mind this is the ideal under the new system. Your mileage may vary.

You will be in the development phase until the VA receives and finishes a request for ratings. I final out on Friday for medical retirement and am still in the second "decision phase" until the VA gets my DD 214.

Sorry for spelling errors, I am on my phone.
