Covid Vaccine Refusal and Medboard

Take this down if it’s not allowed, but I’m wondering if anyone else is having this issue? I am a covid vaccine refusal but am also going through the PEB right now, been with the medical officer 60 days now.

Has anyone’s command given them guidance on whether they will be admin separated or whether they will get to continue on their Medboard process? My command has no answers for me whatsoever.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have any hard evidence but with most admin separations they will dual process them and then the higher ups decided whether to go with Medical Discharge/Retirement or admin separation. I would submit a waiver for medical or religious in hopes of delaying the process until you get retirement orders. Since this is brand new I don't think anyone can know if they will allow you to get out via medical or admin separation.

Regardless of your stance on the vaccine I encourage you to not jeopardize a possible medical retirement. I recommend getting the vaccine. Its safe and effective but even if you believe otherwise you may look back and regret it due to the possible consequences. The risk/reward of getting the vaccine is highly slanted in favor of getting it when you consider the additional pay and benefits you stand to lose over the course of your lifetime.

That’s another issue I’m having and don’t know who to speak with. I am refusing due to medical issues, and I am being denied a medical exemption with no explanation.

I reached out to my congressman and they contacted the Navy on my behalf and the captain who responded said if I qualify for one I should be receiving one, yet my health clinic straight up just says no, with no explanation whatsoever. I’m not really sure what my next steps for the exemption would be.

Unless your condition is autoimmune I doubt you will get an exemption. The issue is that medical has to agree with your assertion so just because you have medical issues doesn't mean you shouldn't get the vaccine. I would consult an independent medical professional to get their opinion. You should be able to set an appointment with your PCM to ask them or go to your nearest county health clinic and ask an expert. if you they say its safe to get the vaccine I would get it. If not, I would continue to escalate it.

Hello @eringregoire

I agree that you should make independent decisions based on all the information you’ve accumulated, especially from well-known physicians in the field.

I also recommend you ignore fellow board members who advise to ignore everyone but himself.

Whatever you do, don’t take medial advice from Provis or any other internet “expert”. To say the jab is “safe and effective” is completely misleading. It is safe for some and one could could argue not very effective for anyone not over 70, obese, or diabetic. VAERS will tell you most of what you need to know. DO NOT take any treatment you are not comfortable with to save a retirement paycheck!! If you get seriously Ill or even die it won’t matter and no one will take accountability!! I’m in a similar situation and I absolutely will not take a jab that Could make me sick for a virus that DID NOT make me sick. It’s all risk for me!

Thank y’all for your input! It’s definitely been a struggle being mistreated over it, but I’m hoping for PEB results before June so I can separate/retire with just that medical separation and not the covid vaccine separation as well.
Only time will tell, but regardless, I am not putting my current health conditions on the line to be made worse, and I definitely don’t care about a paycheck over my health.
Again, thanks for your time to read my situation and respond. It’s greatly appreciated!
