CRSC

I just received my unfit letter. On it for my injures it has V-1, V-3, V-4 Yes for all three. My question is, if I'm tracking correctly that means my injuries are combat related. With that being said, is that by itself sufficient evidence to apply for CRSC or would I need to provide further evidence?

I currently will have 12 years in by the time my PEB is complete

Im positive i will get Medically Retired over 30%. But my main question is, will I need to submit more evidence on top of whats already written in my narsum, Unfit memo etc... In order to qualify for the CRSC?

I sent copy of IDES proceedings (MEB NARSUM/Dictation, 199, Medical Records) plus retirement orders and DD214. In other words, and to answer your question, yes, you will need to prove retirement, thus, send DD214 and retirement order (just for good measure).

If you were given a V-4 administrative determination code on your unfit memo it means the PEB is proposing to separate you with disability severance pay (<30% disability rating and <20 years of service). The V-4 yes means they determined your unfitting condition(s) to be combat related and your disability severance pay will be tax-exempt. Also, the VA will not reduce their compensation based on the military severance pay.

He won't know whether or not retired until VA comes back with ratings.

To answer your question about CRSC, the criteria for CRSC differs slightly from the PEB and CRSC board. And the CRSC board does not have your military records. You need to submit everything. Your DD Form 214, your initial treatment records for the injury or wound, etc. I had one guy who had been denied CRSC who was retired for years of service. The only thing he said was "I think denying me CRSC was a mistake." The only thing he submitted was DD Form 214. He had awarded a DSC, five Silver Stars, both Bronze Stars and ARCOMs for valor, and five Purple Hearts. He hadn't submitted any evidence of any of that

One of my unfitting conditions is PTSD which if im tracking correctly is a minimum of 50%

I was found unfit for PTSD and the VA rated me 30%. I haven't received my ratings from the PEB so does that mean they will rate it at 50%?

Yes, that is what they should do.

Thanks for the help! That will be very helpful. Does the 199 show the V numbers that tell if its combat related?
