Denied after Positive ALJ Hearing

I thought after my hearing I would have some sort of relief. My hearing ended with theVocational Expert saying there were no jobs that I could do. The VE concluded there were no jobs for me even before my lawyer was able to cross examine the VE. My lawyer asked one additional question which was "would anyone hire me if I missed more than 3 days of work per month for medical appointments" again the VE said no. I have only seen one person on PEB Forum who has stated that they were still denied by an ALJ after having a positiv hearing. Anyone else have a similar story or something that can give me peace until I recieve the decision letter?

Did the ALJ actually deny you right then and there? Typically they take the testimony to their chambers and deliver a written decision at a later date.

Was there any testimony from medical doctors, or just the vocational expert?

I know it is easier said than done, but, don't put stress on yourself speculating that things might go poorly. Until you get a decision, you can't know. Given that everything sounds like it went well at the hearing, I would just try to keep your mind on other things.

Good luck!

No medical doctors present only the VE.

Thanks! I know I trust in God I've calmed down now, thanks for the support.

The medical doctors are not typically present, but available by telephone. Typically the ALJ has two medical doctors and one VE testify, your attorney will have the opportunity to cross examine them.

If the ALJ only took testimony from the VE, then he/she would have more than likely gotten enough evidence to rule in your favor.

As long as the ALJ gives appropriate weight to your treating physicians, and considers the VE's testimony at your hearing, you should be fine.
