Denied CRSC

Easy, having evidence to conclude combat related, that's all.

Not knowing the facts of your injury or what you claimed it would be hard to suggest what evidence you could proffer. more details would help. CRSC is tricky in many cases.

get your orders, dd214, medical records, LOD's that relate to the injury that you are claiming. Maybe a statement from someone that was with you when the injury occurred, give them anything that you have and go from there. you simply saying it's combat related is not enough.

@chaplaincharlie you were right about PTSD likely being denied for CRSC in my case. However, I just wanted to point out the contradiction in their own wording.

"Non-Combat Related: PTSD"

"PTSD is an anxiety disorder that may develop after exposure to a terrifying event or ordeal in which sever physical harm occurred or was threatened. Traumatic events that may trigger PTSD include violent personal assaults, natural or unnatural disasters, accidents, or military combat." :confused:

Really confused on how to best move forward with an appeal.

@Camp P Marine

I wish I was wrong! Sorry your CRSC was not approved. PTSD is a tough one in most cases.

You may want to consult an attorney and see if there are things that will change the outcome.

It is really going to come down to the wording of the CRSC application. You MUST show a nexus between a "specific" combat related (by CRSC definition) stressor and the onset of your condition.

Please make sure to read the CRSC definition of "combat related". The CRSC definition: "A combat-related disability is a disability with an assigned medical diagnosis code from the VASRD that was incurred: a. As a direct result of armed conflict, b. While engaged in hazardous service, c. In the performance of duty under conditions simulating war, or d. Through an instrumentality of war.

In my opinion, the application should read something like this to be successful:

"On May 17, 2011 I was subjected to mortar round attacks on FOB Ramrod, several mortars had exploded in my area of operations, where soldiers in my immediate vicinity were killed in action. I have suffered from immense trauma ever since this attack, which I believe to the the onset of my post traumatic stress disorder. This is supported by my physicians notes dated July 15, 2015 through August 18 2016."

There is a date, location, event, trauma, condition, supporting evidence.
