DOD versus VA

I talked to a VA rep yesterday on the 1800 number. He told me that I was rated at 10% DOD and 80% VA. I went to PEB for my knee. He also told me the DOD rated me at 10% for my knee but the VA rated me at 0%.

Why would the VA rate me lower then the DOD? I thought they were sent to the VA for rating and the PEB just goes off of what the VA rates.

I am very excited about the 80 but I don't quite understand the difference in the ratings for the same thing.

It's possible the VA considered it a part of another condition. It's also possible that your VA rating could change between now and once it's official. It's also possible that the guy on the phone told you the wrong thing. Call back everyday and ask the same question...........chances are you will receive different answers more often than expected.
