E-3 Airmen of Two years found unfit for Fibromyalgia needing guidance

Hi, as the title says I'm an Airmen diagnosed with Joint Hypermobility Syndrome / Fibromyalgia since 2016. My MEB started in the summer of 2017, and they found me unfitting due to the profiles I have and since I can not deploy. I'm on multiple medications for the conditions, and it is refractory to therapy. My research has told me that the fibromyalgia itself is at least a 40% rating with my severity of constant chronic pain and fatigue. I have already finished all my VA appointments and my case has been sent for review and will become a disability package.

I'm told that the package usually takes 6-8 weeks to build and then this will tell me if I am still unfit or not and will also list my ratings (letting me know if I am going to permanently retired or not). I'm curious to know if fibromyaliga generally is medical retirement, how much financial support I would get from only being in for two years and a 40% rating or above. If anyone knows if this truly is the end of this long and tiring process that would be appreciative as well. My quality of life is very poor with constant pain attacks, becoming sick often, and being constantly fatigued due to the conditions and shift work. Any help is appreciated!

Would need more specifics to accurately calculate your compensation. As far as medical retirement goes, compensation wise, you will receive whatever your unfitting disability rating is (40%?) time the average of your pay for the two years you have served.

Here is an example using 2018 pay chart.

$1772.50 (estimated average of your base pay for the two years you have been in) x 40% = $709 - taxes.

or if your VA C&P is greater, you will get that, at 40% it would only be $601 per month.

Base pay is like 1950, single no dependents, ~ 40% shows me 780 as seen here: View: https://imgur.com/a/g6OG0

Where do you get your #'s from?

It's not your current base pay, but the average for your highest three years of earning. Since you have been in for 2 years and are an E3, a rough estimate of the average is $1772.50. It could be slightly more, slightly less.

If you want to figure out the exact, take all of your LES and add them up, divide by the number of LES you have added up.
