Figured I would start a timeline....

October 2010-Back injury
March 2012-MRI reveals disc bulging, stenosis, DDD, etc.. (Yes, it took me a long time to get an MRI)
06 April 2012- MEB initiated (Code 37)
13 April - Met Peblo
24 July - Narsum/Commanders Letter
10-14 Septermber- C&P Exams
05 October- Signed Package/Package Forwarded to AFPC
13 November- Unfit at AFPC/Package Forwarded to VA (Providence, RI) for ratings

Any information/guesses on how long it will take the VA to have results?

i say march madness!!!

My package was sent to AFPC on 26 September. Reffered conditions are back conditions, still no word. I feel you I'm going CRAZY. Do you know which VA office is handeling your package. I've heard the RI Regional office works pretty fast. Take care & GOD Bless.

sorry, I didn't read the entire post. The Road Island office works pretty fast, i've seen ratings back in a couple of week.

I have also heard that Rhode Island is pretty good. I called the VA today, they stated that they still did not have my required paperwork from my QTC exams. I am assuming that they receive my QTC exams when they get the rest of my package which should be enroute. Does anyone know for sure?

My package was sent to the same regional office on 7 Nov. I've called several times. I've gotten the same answer as you the first 5 times I called, finally called again an a VA rep looked deeper and found my unfit memo. When you call them asked them to look under further evidence. That's what the va rep told me. Also, get a Power of attorney and drop it off to the DAV they would be able to give you all the info. I'm going to see them next week. Good Luck.

You can call the VA 1800-827-1000 OPTION 0,0,1 OR 1,2,3,1,0. Good Luck.

Hey moneyblind, thanks for the support. I agree, my appointment with Dr. Tran has progbably been the only positive experience in this entire process. I am getting really fed up with the VA. My package has still not been worked on and is just sitting in line... when is this going to end. Good luck in your process...

My package from the VA was quick, I saw the doctors in Nov (Dr Tran) and my package came back to the base (Hurlburt) Dec 19, it left for Eglin last week for the informal board, so not sure how long that takes. Is there a way to find out if i am unfit? Is that a VA thing or Air Force deal?

I have been told by my PEBLO that ounce it comes back and goes to AFPC it could take 3-4 months. My issue, I have a approved retirement date of 1 Jun 2013 and terminal elegiable 29 March 2013. Hoping it comes back quick and I get a answer before I go on terminal leave so I can retire out. Any suggestions of a time line?

Ok, sorry it has been a while since I have updated this...

16 January- Audiology report corrected
24 January - VA has completed proposed ratings

40% Military, 80% VA!!!! Couldn't have hoped for anything better
Now I'm just hoping for permanent retirement. Anyone know if back injuries are usually permanent? (I never had surgery if that matters)

behiftball,

How did you find out that they needed more evidence for audiology?

Ben

Ben,

I contacted my PEBLO and he was able to see it in his system. My PEBLO has actually been pretty helpful in this process and always gives me meaningful updates when I talk to him.

Congrat's!!! My ratings were also completed on 24 January. Our package was sent around the same time frame. I don't have my ratings yet... Did you get them from your PEBLO? I'm also going in for back ralated injuries, best of luck. God Bless you...

Ivette, from my understand both the VA and your PEBLO have these ratings. However, they are not supposed to tell you. If you have a good relationship with your PEBLO he/she could give them to you

Thanks, I just got them from my PEBLO. 40% AF & 80% VA, I was told by the case manager at AFPC I should have my case back by the end of this week, early next week. Now, all that remains is to hope for PDRL. Have you figured out the pay yet? Take care, best of luck.
