Been dealing with back issues since Dec 23, March 24 had surgery and went through PT. Nothing helped and i still have chronic back pain/issues.

- June 25 - PCM stated since nothing else works or helps that MEB would be next step.

- 11 Jul - Code 37 Applied, Do not retain and NARSUM was sent to AFPC, still waiting for CC impact statement to be started and signed.

- 24 Jul - CIS signed and routed back to PEBLO (PEBLO said they will be routing on Monday when they are back).

UPDATE

I could be wrong but I believe Peblo possibly didnt send your package up to AFPC since you didnt have the CIS yet. From my understanding that is apart of the package that AFPC needs to make their recommendation.

Also, my package got sent to AFPC July 7th and I'm still awaiting a response. We are pretty much in the same boat. :)

Ya they told me they would be routing my CIS/NARSUM Monday cause they will be gone tomorrow. Was also told that it’s PCS time and things might take a smidge longer than usual but that’s just a guess. Hoping for sooner lol

Hi, I was just coded myself as 37, how did you find out you were "Do Not Retain"?
Do not retain was commanders recommendation for me and that is seen by signing your CIS that later gets sent up to AFPC for them to make their Irilo decision i believe.

Also at Fairchild.

17 July - IRLO started
4 Aug - NARSUM finished by brand new PCM who I never met and CIS sent to CC
6 Aug - CIS sent back to PEBLO

Now just waiting for a decision!

it will say what your commander suggests in the commanders impact statement. The CIS comes back to you for your comments and to sign. wants you sign you send it back to your shirt. The shirt sends its to the PEBLO, then there are a few other signatures from medical to sign on and they send all of that up to AFPC.

- 25 Aug - Checked in with PEBLO, still awaiting response. They said its taking about 4-6 weeks right now with PCS season and all of the halted PCS craziness. I was told to expect it to be another week or two before they recieve anything back.

**UPDATE**

Will do! Im also still waiting. PEBLO said he submitted my stuff to AFPC on 11 August and on 13 August he said he expected it to take 3-4 weeks for a response.
This is about accurate, took mine 3 and a half weeks to get the decision. You guys are almost at the part where it speeds up then just becomes a waiting game

Hopefully we both hear back soon! I feel like I might go insane waiting for the decision. Will feel much better knowing if it's happening or not.

Might really go insane though if they decide Return to Duty. I've got 3 years left on my contract. PEBLO warned me that a lot are coming RTD lately despite "Do not Retain" on CIS and multiple specialist doctor recommendations for separation from military service, so the extra waiting is making me nervous.

Eh, it just depends on what you are being looked at for, I would try not to worry about it, even though it is almost impossible, but just try to keep yourself busy.

Said something similar to me, hope it’s not my case.

Today marks 4 weeks for me as well. I called and talked to my PEBLO and he said AFPC is backlogged. and a lot of the MyFSS systems were down all last week which will likely delay things more.

Hanging in there with you guys! Hope we hear something soon.

Branch: Air Force
Base: Davis-Monthan AFB

June 18, 2025: Provider discussed the MEB process and explained it to my wife and me. Additionally, she informed me of a plan for AMRO staffing.

July 3, 2025: Referred for IRILO/NARSUM by AMRO due to a possible unfitting condition. I was notified of the next steps.

July 18, 2025: NARSUM from provider was completed and submitted to PEBLO.

July 25, 2025: Received a phone call from my PEBLO officer on base discussing the next steps and providing a brief summary of what will happen. She stated a CIS would need to be compiled by my PCM and commander.

August 1, 2025: CIS was sent to me for signature after my commander signed it, along with statements indicating "DO NOT RETAIN."

August 8, 2025: Received an email and phone call from PEBLO stating that my case has been submitted to HQ AFPC/Medical Retention Standards (DPMNR) as an Initial Review-in-lieu of (I-RILO). I was informed to expect a turnaround of 1–4 weeks.
