Figured I'd start a timeline.

I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in Jul '11.

Was told an MEB was required in May, '12.

First appointment with PCM regarding the MEB on 10Jul12.

PEBLO e-mailed the CC letter template to my CC on 17Jul12, gave him a 10 day suspense.

On 14Sep12, found out PEBLO had never received letter. Wrote it myself and sent it to CC for signature.

CC signed letter and forwarded to PEBLO on 17Sep12.

On 24Sep12, received e-mail from PEBLO to schedule MEB briefing this Thursday, the 27th.

So, that's where I'm at, so far. Not very close to being done at all, after all this time.

Hang tight. Once you the local board makes their determination; things speed up somewhat. I suggest you request a full copy of your medical records as soon as possible, it will speed up your timeline somewhat. You must provide a copy of your records to the VA MSC in order to get scheduled for your C/P exams thru the VA. Depending on where you are stationed this may take weeks. Once your narrative summary is complete; and you sign off your package is mailed out "then the real wait start". What service are you in? From the sound of your post, you sound like your in the AF. I can relate to CC not providing their inputs on time.

Yes, I'm in the Air Force. Stationed at JBER, AK. I actually work in the hospital and have a pretty good working relationship with the TOPA flight chief. I think she'd help me get my record copies if it turned out to be really slow.

Tomorrow is my mental health c&p exam. I'm kind of nervous. In 2007 I tried to kill myself with sleeping pills. My commander ordered me to see mental health. The doc met me once and diagnosed me with schizoid personality disorder. Later it was depression with anxiety. Then, after I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, my bulimia got worse and I went to mental health and admitted to having it. My mental health record is bigger than my medical record. Tomorrow should be really fun recounting my history. *sigh*

Anyone have any advice for the appointment?

I did my mental health exam on Oct 3rd and the general exam on Oct 23rd. Got the reports from the VA around the first of November, and the PEBLO tried to send them to my PCM, but it turns out he doesn't work at the base hospital any more, so she sent them to my new PCM and made me an appointment on Nov 21st to see him so he could do my NARSUM.

I've been on leave the last week and the PEBLO sent me an e-mail a couple of days ago saying the local MEB met and my ratings are in and I'll see them when I come back on Monday. I thought the PCM had to do the NARSUM before the ratings could be done. I'm confused.

Also, I don't think the ratings are going to be very high. When I did the ROM tests, I stopped when I felt pain and the doctor grabbed my arms and said "I think you can go further" and pulled on them, even though I said it hurt. She did the same to my other joints. Her report says there is no limitation of motion, only subjective evidence of pain, and that I only marginally meet the criteria for rheumatoid arthritis. I told my rheumatologist this and all she had to say was "Was this doctor a rheumatologist?" and I said "No, she told me she was a family health doc," and my rheumy said "So how would she know?" Ha!

Well, AFPC received my package on 6 Dec, according to the USPS tracking. Just more waiting now.
