I was recently placed at 100 permanent and total disability through the VA and was told I could apply for social security.
I was trying to fill out the form online but it seems a bit overwhelming.
Do they want me to type in all the bases I seeked mental health at, doctors and therapists I've seen and meds that I was on throughout the years?
I have about 7 years worth of that information so I could put all that down.
I also read that since I'm considered a wounded warrior at 100 percent that the process would move a bit quicker?
I know it's common that it gets repealed the first time but I really hope I'm able to fill everything out correctly so I don't get denied, I just don't want to have to talk to the judge.
I struggle with depression and social anxiety and haven't been able to stay employed. I even had a friend offer me a job at the company he works at that paid a little over 90k a year, all I had to do is get some special cert that should have taken 2 weeks to get and even at that I failed miserably. I barely managed to last a week in a class of six people then I stopped showing up due to my anxiety getting too extreme.
I struggled with my mental issues for most of my career but it was when I got denied an assignment because I was going to mental health too much is what mentally broke me. I haven't been able to find a job since I was medically retired out of the military.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
Also, should I try to call or go in person? I don't do too well around people but I can give it a shot.
