After my second try at medboarding I was finally found unfit for asthma, my question now is my percentage, I talked with the medboard attorney and he stated that I should be rated at 30%, I had a 44% reduction in FEV1 on the very first dose of methacholine so I was under the impression that I would be getting around 60% on the DOD side when I asked him about this he stated that it be hard to get it from the FEV1, I dont understand why, I'm currently on Advair 500, singulair, albuterol, albuterol nebulizer, and flovent so please if anyone could elaborate for me

question for you boo, I too have asthma, was dx in 2007, I was given a p2 and an alternate event but have not been through a MEB I can not perform the 2 mile run with my asthma I am not sure what my FEV1 numbers are since the last medalorine challange was in 2010 I too take advair 500 and albuterol. Shouldn't I have been through an MEB process by now? and since i haven't should I ask ?

Yes you should have, if you cannot perform the run portion of the APFT it warrants a P3 making you eligible for a medboard, I would get my PCM and explain to the them that you cant do it which would force them to give you one
