First NARSUM

I am a little confused, I had a NARSUM written up during my IRILO which clearly states unfit for duty. Will that hold over? I have one more exam left, will my NARSUM be changed with a possiblity of being found fit? Or will that unfit finding hold over?

A NARSUM does not equate to an "unfit finding." A Narrative Summary is a doctor's summary of your medical condition(s). Its a only a recommendation, not a decision or finding. It is unlikely the recommendation will change based on an additional examination.

You will get your Fit/Unfit about 2 weeks after the NARSUM. Its no longer required to be presented to the Soldier for signature. If you watch your IDES tracking you will nee when its issued, you can call your PEBLO and they can look at it.

However, People have mentioned some posts still print it for you, however, Ft Drum does not.

Also, the fit/unfit is not concrete. In rare cases an Unfit can turn into a Fit and vice versa.

Nothing is final until you sign the 199.

Received my unfit memo today. It has both unfitting conditions listed (I just put here disability 1 and 2), it looks like this:

Disabilty 1 (MEB DX 1) (V1-Yes; V3-Yes; V4-Yes)
Disability 2 (MEB Dx 2) (V1- No; V3-No: V4-No)

So, I'm assuming MEB DX 1 and 2 are MEB disabilities 1 and 2.

I'm wondering what the V1/V3/V4 and YES/NO mean?

Does anyone have any insight on this?
