That sucks that an administrative error slowed your process down. I'm at Bragg too and signed my 3947 last week with no appeals. I hope the rest of the process is quick and painless!

Quick update:

This morning my IDES Dashboard in AKO changed to show a completion date for "PEB Appeal or VA Reconsideration" of 11/07/2016. eBenefits chat confirmed that the VA had sent the Memo for the Reconsideration to the PEB on 11/07/2016. They wouldn't release the results over the chat sadly and no fax option either.

My PEBLO told me that the PEB forwarded the VARR to the VA on 11/01/2016. I had signed my DA-199 w/ VARR on 10/19/2016. So about 2 weeks for PEB to forward to the VA and 1 week for the VA to do the reconsideration. Haven't heard back yet from the PEB regarding the results of the VARR. I'm assuming that the packet will first get forwarded up to the PDA for approval prior to my next notification.

The chat agent did say I can submit a FOIA request to get a copy of the memo. Has anyone done that before? I'm guessing the timeline on that will be much longer than the time for the PEB to let me know the results...but then again it took the VA half the time that the PEB took on the VARR, and all the PEB had to do is forward on my request.

Hopefully this will finish soon and the uncertainty will end. That's for sure the worst part of this process.

I am also stationed here on Bragg, and just had surgery on my left ankle for tendons that I tore 10 months ago. The surgery did not help and honestly made things worse, I can't run and can't hardly walk now. The pain shoots from my left hip to my toes, which was the case prior to the surgery for being pushed off so long my the doctors. I went to physical therapy for 7 weeks about 3 months after it happened (which did nothing). I had a follow up appointment today and was telling the surgeon all the problems I've been having since the surgery. Unbearable pain, can't stand for more than 10 mins, can't bend my ankle at all, and haven't sleep more than 2 hours a night since my surgery. The doctors told me that he is going to give it another month and if I'm still having the same problems on 27 dec he is referring me to the MEB. Keep me posted on how this goes for you.

Sorry to hear about your complications from surgery. Hopefully you'll be able to recover soon!

I'll make sure I keep this updated...In fact, I'm meeting with my PEBLO today so I'm assuming I'll have an update later today.

I went to my primary care today, he also told me that there isn't much that can be done at this point, he gave me naproxen for the swelling and hydocodon for the pain and to help sleep. So I'll most likely be starting my process in December. Hope all turns out well for you.

I'm very sorry to hear that. Just make sure you follow through on all your medical appointments and accurately report what's going on. If you're having a flare-up, get evidence of it.

My MEB at Bragg was actually pretty great. My NARSUM provider was excellent. My issues mainly came at the PEB/VA rating phase.

*Update*

I met with my PEBLO yesterday and was informed that the VA found no changes based on my VARR. The letter from the VA was pretty laughable. Basically said, we see one of your contentions (I listed 3) but we've decided that we can't make a mistake.

Anyway, my name hasn't hit TRANSPROC yet, but my PEBLO said to start the out-processing process now and I should hit the list in the next day or two.

My name hit TRANSPROC last week and I had my first meeting with Retirement Services on Monday. Looks like my "retirement date" will be 9FEB16. PTDY and terminal leave begins 5JAN16.

I was told that if we have less that 60 days of leave, then there's no real choice on when our date is. They simply look at when we're scheduled for our last brief (which in my case is 4JAN16) and then the next day you start leave. If you have less than 60 days leave then they just move your retirement date back to when you'll run out of leave.

Not sure how annoying it will be to try to outprocess during the holiday schedule, but I'm guessing not that fun...we'll see :)

I'm on the exact same schedule as you! Starting transition leave on 05 Jan!

Cool..so I signed my 199 today and now waiting for the final steps to work my way out how long after signing your 199 did you get your out date. I have literally 4 days of leave so I will be looking forward to 20 days Ptdy. Which I'm hoping I can start early no later then mid Jan. Think that's possible?

My process was a bit different because I submitted a VARR so I'm not sure how long from signing 199 to starting PTDY, but I'd guess about a month. I was told last week Thursday that my VARR was complete and my name hit TRANSPROC. My leave was scheduled to start January 5. So I'm guessing about a month after signing.
