Left wrist injury, three fractures which required a permanent plate and nine screws in the wrist. My process may or may not seem faster than others due to me not claiming VA while currently in. I am solely claiming the wrist through the Army. I've got severe ROM and weight bearing loss (up to 78% ROM loss in certain flexions) and am an 11B, so there are obviously reasons why I can't perform any basic soldiering tasks.

June 14th, Referred to MEB.

June 15th, received call from PEBLO detailing documents to bring in.

June 16th, formally met with PEBLO and saw VA to make claims (I chose to make 0 VA claims.) P3 dead-mans assigned.

June 20th, QTC appointment for a hearing check.

June 21st, QTC appointment for physical.

June 24th, MEB + PEB "brief" detailing the process and a point to ask questions.

June 27th, met with PEBLO to sign documents.

July 13th, received a phone call saying my NARSUM was done over the telephone and wouldn't need a formal appointment. At the time they were short on people apparently.

July 14th, reviewed NARSUM and PEB packet, signed off on it and it was sent up.

July 18th to 22nd, 5-day ACAP (SFL-TAP) completed.

CURRENT: Waiting for PEB findings (Unfit + Ratings)

This doesn't make any sense to me. Your ratings are done by the VA, and the DoD matches the VA proposed ratings for the conditions that are considered unfit for continued military service. At least that is what I understand based off of everything that I have read and been told during all steps in the MEB process. I think you may want to do some more research on this.

You're right, I messed up on my wording. What I meant to say is I didn't make any further claims besides the wrist. In essence I made one claim, sorry for the confusion. I also haven't figured out how to edit the main post, so here's an update.

I called my PEBLO today because my IPEB was taking an extended amount of time (18 days.) and I figured out (with their help.) I'd been deemed unfit as of 21 July and my packet was sent to the VA for ratings 28 July. Currently waiting for ratings as of 1 AUG.

Congrats on the process moving forward. I am in the same step in the claims process right now. My unfit memo and paperwork went to the VA on the 18th of July. Hopefully there is not too much of a backlog of paperwork for them to process right now.

Thanks, you too. I don't know if you found this link yet but it helps a lot when checking eBenefits: http://www.hadit.com/ebenefits-status-messages/ best of luck.

A little confused. My status on eBenefits changed. It started out as "Pending Decision Approval" and then it went off to "Gathering Evidence" and according to their process that's going backwards? I don't know, at least it's getting looked at.

Just got my 199 today. I go back in & sign it on Monday. Happy with my numbers and everything, feels good. 2 and a half-ish months and I'm almost done.

Also at Polk. Just got put in for MEB from Ortho for back issues (DDD). What would you say helped make yours go so quick? I will only have a few things to claim for VA besides the DDD for the DoD rating. But hoping for a 20% DoD and 100% VA ratings in the end.
