I'm reaching out to see if anyone here has experience with Operation Homefront's Transitional Housing (Villages) program. This program is specifically designed for wounded, ill, and injured service members and their families as they transition out of the military.

I recently applied for this program (the process was quite easy) because my MSC informed me that the current VA processing time for IDES claims after separation or retirement is 60-90 days. For me, this means I might not receive any payments until November or December. The Villages offer rent-free, two- and three-bedroom apartments in San Diego, CA, Gaithersburg, MD, and San Antonio, TX, which could be a lifesaver for my husband and I.
If you have any experience or insights about this program, I'd love to hear from you. How was your experience? What are the apartments like?
