I've been waiting so long to finally make this post, but it feels good to be here.

Referred to IDES: 04 January 2021
Appointments completed: 02 April 2021
NARSUM Signed : 01 June 2021
Submitted to PEB: 02 June 2021
VA Findings: 28 July 2021
Found unfit: 13 December 2021
Official Results: 16 December 2021 / 70DOD / 90 VA
Received NLD: 07 January 2021

MY NLD is 28 March, and with terminal leave and PTDY I plan to be out of here on January 19th.

It's been a long time coming, and I'm really just ready to leave at this point.

I returned back from OEF 2011 and I did not get cleared until 2015 so it take a long time then make sure they do not try to stop you from getting everything you entitled to.

I messed up. I meant January 7th 2022. So today. I’ll get my paperwork signed Monday and then do my Capstone next week as well. I should be checking out of my command the following week and then I’m out.

I understood what you meant haha, so when did you sign off on your findings, I signed on the 5. And thats crazy since my capstone was done way back in july/ august lol
 
I signed my findings on December 17th. You may have to redo your capstone because it has to be done within 90 days getting out. But that should be as easy as having whoever did it with you to just update it in their system.

Its NLT 90 days , but even then they just signed off on it
 
I received the paperwork for my separation today. I start terminal leave next Thursday. I will be running around like crazy this week trying to get everything done in time. But, to make it all more complicated I had to get tested for Covid today, so I'm really hoping that comes back negative because otherwise this is all going to get so much more complicated.
 
Today I learned that until you have a DD-214 in hand the fight isn't over. I ended up having to push my terminal leave back a week because of having Covid. Then, medical told me that I couldn't get a separation physical scheduled until February. My command is completely useless, but they've never really cared about me to begin with, so I'm not at all surprised. I have to be out of my house before February 1st, too. I feel like I'm so alone in this process now and it's so incredibly stressful. It's like once the Navy says you're unfit, they literally turn their back on you.

This is a rant because I'm stressed out of my mind, but also a warning to everyone. The fight isn't over after you receive your results. If you want anything to happen you have to be the one to make sure it does.

Separation physical is not required for medical separations or retirements. Its already been done at your head to toe exam. If command or anyone else says its required refer them to your IDES JAG to set them straight.

This is the first I’ve heard this! Even the doctors are saying I need the physical. I’m going in next Wednesday to do the first part of it. I’ll let you know how it goes

Ask your PEBLO, IDES JAG etc. If you went through IDES you don't have to do the separation physical. It's a known fact but since its rare others will say you have to because they didn't know you already had it. Its part of your C&P exams. Its listed as Separation Health Assessment in your C&P exams:) So talk to your people in IDES and have them reach out to your command to let them know it isn't required.
 
Today is 200 days since submission and 149 at the medical officer. I'm just ready to be out of here.

At the bottom of page 7 in box: Potentially Unfit for Continued Military Service. That is where it states not needed:) Now you have proof and don't need someone at IDES to talk to your command.

Yeah, I did all my medical at Walter Reed and I was shocked that they were so ignorant to it. I had to fight like crazy to get everything signed off but it happened.

I started terminal leave last week. It feels great to be on the outside now.

Also, for those of you who have already received their unfit for duty and would like to be part of a study about it, send me a message.
 
I have a dumb question about terminal leave, after your terminal leave is up, do
You have to go back to get your DD-214 or do they mail it ? How does that work

I didn’t get mine before I transitioned, but I was told I’d need to have access to NSIPS while I was on terminal leave in order to get my DD214. I already had a CAC reader I could use so that wasn’t an issue. I just received an email today telling my to review and sign it on NSIPS and then PSD will process it and I’ll receive the official copy in the mail.
