I thing that everyone knows about the Burn Pit Registry, but there is another little know registry for Iraq Veterans. It is known as the Gulf War Registry Exam.
"Veterans who served in the Gulf during Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, or Operation New Dawn are eligible for the Gulf War Registry exam."
While this exam is not for compensation, it will be apart of your VA Health Record that can be used to substantiate compensation claims. You will get a questionnaire, and then you will be scheduled to be seen by a VA Doc at a regional medical facility. In the questionnaire you will be asked about your exposures to things like depleted uranium, nerve agents, and other hazards. Pro tip from the VA doc that I saw, if you are unsure of your exposure DO NOT answer the question as "no," you answer it as "unknown." You will get a full work-up to include blood and urine. You must contact the Environmental Health Coordinator in the second link closest to you to schedule the exam.
