Ok so im air force e-5 TDRL 70%(PTSD) and VA 90%(sleep apnea, PTSD and anxiety, both knees, mild TBI, ashma). I started recieving VA payments on JAN 1st 2013 same amount each month about $2000. then March I was approved for CRSC from DFAS and started reciving that money at the end of march I was told it was about $100 a month by the WWP contact and i got $500 and just figured it was backpay. then this month another deposit that said it was the backpay and tonight i see my monthly CRSC is the $500 amount which seems really high to me. As we all know if it seems like to much from the govt set it aside until you find out lol. any help would be great as i dont want to owe the govt and of couse DFAS has been useless(yes i called-several diff times lol).
VA findings date was DEC2012

See the attached DES Outrage 8. It covers the CRSC glitch issue. This issue was finally fixed by Congress in the 2013 NDAA. You can use the formula discussed in the Outrage to figure out what your CRSC should be and if you were a victim of the CRSC glitch. In short, your CRSC should be the smaller of two amounts:

Your LOS based retirement
The amount of VA compensation for combat related conditions

There could still be an offset in your DoD disability retirement amount is greater than your VA. It sounds like from your post this is not situation.

DFAS started making correct CRSC payments with the April 2013 checks. This seems to match up with your recent increase in CRSC.
