Help? Long post!

Indeed, fingers and toes are definitely crossed for sure! Good luck! :)

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

Thanks for crossing your fingers AND toes! That helped a lot.

I went to see Legal Assistance and they sent me straight over to the MEB Attorneys. I sat down with a MEB Paralegal, and immediately started pulling out supporting documents and paperwork. He was pretty freaking shocked to say the least. He saw that I had gotten AHLTA notes from my doctors saying I should be MEB, and said I was a "smart girl" for doing so (I felt so good after that compliment. Lol!). He got copies of my doctors notes, the counseling for the 5-17 chapter, my lab results showing my new hypothyroid issue, and my MRI results showing my bulging discs., etc...

He said that I'm a perfect example for a MEB and should get into the process quite easily. YAY!!! He told me to call him on Wednesday, as he's taking my packet up to the head doctor of the MEB. I'm so excited!

All right, congratulations and you are welcome! This is outstanding news for sure! :D

Indeed, I like and can definitely appreciate your positively proactive approach for getting into the DoD IDES MEB/PEB process; good deal! :)

To that extent, please keep it up for sure upon acceptance into the DoD IDES process to ensure that all continues as it should in my opinion!

We still haven't heard about anything from the head doctor of the MEB yet. I am trying SO hard to be positive right now but it's so difficult... Considering my company is trying to start the Chapter 5-17 again. My labs are scheduled for the 18th, and my Phase 1 Physical for the 19th. I spoke to my MEB paralegal and he said I *should* fail the physical once the doctor sees my medical history. He also said I do not fit the 5-17 at all... He said he'll call me tomorrow, and keep bothering the doctor of the MEB about my packet.

UGH. All of this is SO stressful but I know I deserve a MEB for my conditions, and I know that my company is trying to pull one over on me. :( How do people keep their spirits up in these type of situations. It's so difficult!

Call you PEBLO, let them know what's going on, I would also suggest calling the Ombudsman, maybe no slip the leash right away, but talk to them, get them up to speed so if needed they will be ready and they can provide a lot of info and advise to you.

I don't have a PEBLO yet (as I am not actually in a MEB yet...), but I have been talking with one. I am working with an Ombudsman very closely, as well as MEB paralegal. My company is just wanting to get rid of me SO BAD that they are advising an NCO's wife who works in BDE Legal...Instead of y'know... JAG; and they're not even reading the dang chapter!

Have you received any if this communication in writing? Remember if anyone speaks to you, make them do a DA4856 (Developmental Counseling Form) if they refuse to do it, then type up a memorandum for the record for yourself.

Print off a few blank DA4856 with your name already on them, give one to the NCO that is present when your are being talked to.

Today I have my Phase 2 physical. Supposed to be getting some good news regarding all of this tomorrow. I am working closely with legal, and an ombudsman to get what I deserve. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for tomorrow's news!

My phase 2 went terribly. The PCM told me that my pain was "in my head" and that I was just telling myself that I couldn't do things. She said that my MRI had no significant findings (BS!). Then they cancelled my temp Dead Man's profile (couldn't even lift 20lbs) and issued me a P2 with all YES's and saying I can take a PT test. I am crushed. Only because I am in constant pain every day of my life. This is not a joke to me. The paralegal said that they are all in cahoots and setting me up for failure (failing a PT test, etc.)

Haven't heard about the big meeting though. I am so anxious. Is there any way to dispute the P2??

Looks like I'm starting a Congressional Inquiry, and doing a 138 IG Complaint - as advised by MEB outreach. Fun times.

Anyone have any knowledge on contesting a P2 profile when the PCM/Unit Surgeon is against you?? I've contacted the Patient Advocate but need advice!

How long were you on the temporary profile?

Are you getting the words from the counseling in writing? Once again I stress, are you getting this in WRITING?

Toss this back into your Commanders court, HE/SHE is responsible for your reconditioning and training you up to be successful.

Here is a website that lays out the Commanders responsibility:

http://www.armyprt.com/special_conditioning_programs/reconditioning.shtml

Negative, physical training and rehab is an individual responsibility. Commander's support rehab, but in no way are they responsible for it.

Here is a direct quote:

COMMAND RESPONSIBILITIES

The reconditioning program is the battalion commander’s and command sergeant’s major program. A well-run program will assist force reconstitution efforts. The success of the program is dependent on the priority placed on it from the top down. Company commanders and first sergeants must care enough about the program to ensure NCO support.
