Hi,
I was lucky enough to get a call this morning from PDA advising me that they concurred w/ PEB's findings of 50% PDRL. Thanks to all who guided me through this.

My paperwork (Physical Disability Information Report) shows this concurrence and shows date of separation as 04 JAN 12. I took this document to retirement services, who advised me that I must get all my leave forms/permissive TDY forms signed and then Retirement Services would cut an order.

Our WTU Admin Clerk started filling out DA 31s, advising me that I must start clearing next week, that I must take, not sell back, my leave, and that my permissive TDY runs continuous, not M-F. I searched AR 600-8-10 and learned that I can, in fact, take PTDY in 5 day increments, and that I don't have to take my leave.

Here's my question, Can a clerk tell me when I have to start clearing?

Thanks,

It doesn't sound right. I understand that PTDY is not guaranteed, but your own accrued leave days should be within your own discretion whether you want to use/sell them, especially since you have until early next year before you officially retire. It may be a local policy regarding when to clear, but if I were you, I would demand the policy letter regarding unit outprocessing and transition leave. Also if you are considering selling back leave days, keep in mind that you can only sell up to 60 days in your whole military carreer (regardless of when you came into the army). Perhaps best is to talk to the people in Bldg 470 (Transition or Retirement Services) and see what they have to say. They may adjsut that date depending on what you decide to do regarding taking leave and PTDY. Also, you are correct about taking PTDY in increments. You can sign in and out by phone and if they want to cry about it, pull rank, I will support you.

Thanks Comeback,
I just got a text from Squad Leader who says new PSG (for out processing) wants to see/talk to me. Earlier today, I asked new PSG to discuss w/ clerk. I guess you're familiar w/ FLW since you referenced 470! :) I spoke w/ the MILPO and he also doesn't think that I can be "forced" to start clearing soon, though I shouldn't noticeably drag my feet.

Don't really like pulling rank, though this might make me reconsider.

Again, thanks!
