How likely is it that PEB will find my Major Depression UNFIT?

New to the Forum. Just started my MEB paperwork the other day... my first appointment is next week. I have been in and out of mental health since 2010 and have been on and off medication as well as did a LIMDU period 2 years ago for depression and anxiety. When I went to the Physiatrist this most recent time he said that they don't grant 2nd LIMDU periods for mental health conditions anymore so i would be med boarded. My life plans would change drastically if everything goes through, which could be in 3-6 months. Naturally this causes a lot of anxiety and worry not knowing what the outcome will be. I think getting out will be the best thing for me and my family so my question is... with my history and anyones experience what is the likelihood that they will find me UNFIT? regardless of the rating...

That timeline seems seriously wrong. (I have seen a huge range of case timelines....once I had a client who was a General Officer select get through the entire process in 6 weeks.....on the other hand, I have cases takes 2 plus years to completion- but, really, with remands and continual fighting of results, I have had cases take several years to completion).

Would need to know more about your case to offer input. Sounds like, based on what you have written, that you would be found unfit. Would want to know your duty limitations, what your command says, and more facts to weigh in with more bases for a "guess."

Hope all goes well for you.

Every situtation is different of course. For me, I was referred to the MEB for PTSD. During my Va exam the doctor also diagnosed me with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). Both of these conditions were found to be unfitting by the PEB. I am now waiting on VA ratings.

So the only limitation i have right now is I'm not deployable. I was assigned to a team that will deploy next February and they assigned me back to a position where I wouldn't be deploying anywhere. My physiatrist noted that i would be a huge mission liability if deployed. I don't imagine that with that kind of remarks from a Doctor, that even if i was found fit for duty that they would deploy me, right? My depression and Anxiety stems from deployment and leaving home so this is another huge thing i'm worried about as well.

Hello,
from this point on you must not sign anything that says "failure to adapt". Some Lt. Dr, was trying to put me in Limdu, but wanted me to first sign that. Luckily for me my wife said that before I should sign anything, she wants to get Legal advice. To our surprise, a Commander in the Legal office said to us, "If I would had signed it, I was going to get kick out without any excuses. She also said with a very angry voice, This is Bs, you have been in service for over 11 years and they want to compare you with a Boot Camp drop out".
I'm currently dealing with MDD and others issues.
