How realistic is it to be done and on leave January 15 if 199 is signed December 15 ?

We(Family and I ) where told that we get to sign it between the 8-15 of December after that it takes about 1-2 weeks to get orders --staying hopeful to be on leave around January 15 to get out of state
Same here. Was supposed to sign them this week but with the system down I can't. Peblo said 8th of December I can come sign.
Then 3 days later your out on the 90 day list ( meaning you have 90 days to exit service) and I have 61 days of leave saved up so that'll put me right around Jan 6-9th to start leave.
Even if I don't get to go home by then I would like to still be on leave and not have to worry about going to work and being able to leave once everything is done
I only have about 29 days of ordinary leave - just think the Christmas holidays can slow things down as far as orders and clearing goes
Just to shade some light for you guys. I signed my 199 Wednesday before thanksgiving and today got a email from retirement services and had 72 hours to turn in paperwork they needed. I was going by the NLT date of 90 meaning with my leave and ptdy I would start clearing he middle of January with retirement date of 2 March. Well come to find out once you go to retirement services I get my orders to clear Monday and start clearing then go on my ptdy and leave. The 90 days is if you have 60 days of leave saved and clearing with ptdy if you don't you get out sooner this is something new you don't get to pick when you get out during the 90 days it is the latest you can get out. Sorry for being so long.

Very realistic, you might be selling leave though. If you sign on the 15th, you should be entered into TRANSPROC on the 18th or so. From there you will just need to contact retirement services and schedule your appointments.
A lot of this will come down to how quickly you will be able to clear the base, are you in housing? do you need to arrange a PCS move? do you have any missing CIF items?
CIF is fully cleared already (was able to do that with the unfit memo ) we do not live in housing and kids are in off base schools already withdrawn (as we send them sooner to be with family )We do need to arrange a PCS move back to home of record

So if we have no leave saved up. Just relying on ptdy we clear then go on ptdy and done??
That is how it was explained to me by retirement services on Friday when I turned in my leave forms now I can to go get them changed.
Ok good I thought I was gonna have to sit here for about 70 days that gives me a sense of relief
No call from peblo again but VA provided a Fax with proposed VA rating so at least some insight -- still waiting on DOD and to sign 199

Did you just call for them to fax it? How long did you have to wait before they agreed to do that?
Yes we called them and ask them to fax it and they did --according to peblo they shouldnt do that oh well they did
