How long after "accepting" findings will I have my retirement date?

Congratulations to you..do you know how they calculated your RAD...can you choose to leave earlier...just trying to figure out how to plan this move...
I honestly have no idea how they calculate your RAD. I always kinda just heard it would be 30-60 days out from your orders. As far as leaving earlier, I'm allowed 20 days of PDTY leave, and also terminal leave (I have 60 days on the books). But HHG where I'm located aren't scheduling any shipments until June 1st right now, so I can't leave until then unfortunately. So my plan is to ship HHG Monday Jun 2nd, take 27 days terminal leave (June 3-29), 20 days PTDY leave (June 30-July 19), and sell back the rest of my leave days.

I know that if your EAOS is close, theyll try to match your RAD to that, but for me my EAOS wasn't until 8/17/2028 LOL.

I Like your plan, I keep going back and forth with that selling and taking leave days...I was thinking similar to you... use some and sell some...

I have no choice but to sell back my leave days lol just not enough time to take it all. I wish you the best of luck though!
Also, I think another reason my RAD is so far out is because I'm not stateside, so they're giving me more time to get things done. Idk for sure though lol, everyone is different.

Don't know what your branch is but in the Army if medically retiring you can request your NLT date moved back to accommodate the use of terminal leave. That's what my wife did. She just needed to fill out 1 form and have an O6 sign off on it. Don't forget they can approve you for 20 days PTDY too! Its not a guarantee but instead a privilege so if you didn't burn any bridges you can add 20 days to it.

Just submitted my PTDY leave and terminal leave this morning and is approved! And I appreciate the input! My line of thinking was, if I sell back my remaining 33 days, that pay will hold me over until I start getting my VA disability pay (since it should get paid with last active duty pay check). So in my case, I was ok with selling some back and not requesting to extend my NLT date lol.

Okay. You net more money by getting it extended. You only get paid prorated base pay for selling back and all of it is taxed. If you moved your NLT back 30 days that's all of your base pay but also 1 month of BAH tax free. In addition it slightly increases your longevity pension which is used to calculate the max earning for CRSC or if you longevity is higher than your DOD%. These addition benefit of helping for more pay assume you were medically retired and not medically separated with severance.

Medically retired (80% DOD/100%VA) I'm not eligible for CRSC and I only have 13 years of service.. increasing longevity pension by 30 days doesn't hold any weight for me. Most likely won't be getting a government job because none of them appeal to me and I don't think I'll even be able to work anyways. Personally, I just prefer to have a lump sum of money from leave sold, not concerned about it not including BAH, and the tax isn't that bad IMO. My orders are already being drafted anyways. But I appreciate all your input!

Just remember future laws can change in your favor. The Pact act created thousands of newly eligible Soldiers to receive CRSC. Conditions such as Asthma, Sinusitis etc are presumptive. If deployed to an eligible country and diagnosed by the VA as having a qualified condition means automatic approval for CRSC. That also means if you later develop a condition in the future you can become eligible for CRSC. So even if you are certain that you don't qualify for CRSC now that doesn't mean you won't ever be eligible for it.

Update: Admin office called yesterday afternoon (May 6th) officially notifying me that they received my PDRL message (RAD July 19) and to come in and start working on retirement package. ACC code changed in NSIPS to 380 - TEMDU SEPROS-Pending Separation, Discharge, Release, or Retirement.
