Well, folks, I am here in CT, in the path of Irene!

Things are calm at the moment with light rain. Spent the past few days preparing (scoured every town nearby for more batteries and flashlights...no luck with that. The stores looked like they had already been hit by looters. Fortunately, I think we are stocked up with enough food and water to ride out a few days if everything goes sideways.

Will post more if anything of interest happens (and I am able to). Hope everyone stays safe!

@Jason...stay safe up there. We road out Hurricane Ike here in South Houston, but I have a hurricane chest, a generator and a kick ass wife!! Was a stressful few days, but bottom line is be prepared if you plan to ride it out!! Sounds like you are!

Here in Wilmington, NC.

Blew through last night and today. Lost power, a couple trees down but not to bad. Media definitely hyped this one.

Glad to hear! I hope that holds true up here. My biggest worry is power outages that last for days. The shore line may have it worse but I am well inland so I think flooding and wind are not going to be that bad. Let's hope!

Well, no major damage here. Woke up and it looked like a hurricane came through (branches, leaves and nature everywhere) but no apparent damage. We lost cable and Internet (I am posting this from my phone). Then about an hour ago heard a small explosion and lost power. I think a tree fell nearby and hit a powerline. So I am without power or Internet for the time being. I hope this passes soon.

I may not be able to post for sometime. Hope everyone else is safe and had no significant damage. See you back here ASAP!

Just a quick update- still without power and Internet. Mac aka Ruptured Duck luckily was in the area and generously loaned me a generator, so I was able to charge my phone.

I hope the electricity and Internet will be back up by tomorrow but will likely be busy touching base with clients.

Glad to hear you're safe Jason. You've given us a great forum here, so if you need something, let us know!

Lights back on as of about two hours ago! Its been an interesting few days and I have missed reading posts and hearing from you all. Hope others have been equally relatively unscathed by Irene. I know people have lost their lives from this storm. It could have been much worse, but for those killed, their families and those still stranded or without power, it was plenty bad. I wish those folks the best and hope things get better soon.

Thanks for the well wishes, dashfan9! Luckily, it was a relatively minor inconvenience for me. Glad to be back and connected to the rest of the world.
