IDES-MEB/PEB Questions(ARMY)

Hello all,
I am hoping that someone can clarify some issues I have regarding the whole IDES process, specifically the PEB portion. QUESTION #1-I have been going through the MEB since AUG 2011, my NARSUM is supposed to be finished within the next week. I have heard from other Soldiers that once the NARSUM goes to San Antonio, that I should have a fit/unfit and VA rating back within a week or two( this has been the trend for the last couple of Soldiers going through the PEB from this MTF ) Is this correct? I am trying to get things ready for when I transition out( mainly college class schedules ) but I am having trouble doing that since my PEBLO is telling me that it will be in San Antonio for "at least a couple of months", which will make things a lot more difficult for me when I get out, does anyone have any recent info on this?
QUESTION #2- Since I have only a little over 5 years of service and more than likely will be placed on the temp retirement and if what I have been told is corect I will more than likely have at least 60%, what is a rough guesstimate of the benefits I will receive? Will I receive VA $$ and an Army pension, or just VA $$?

If you are at Ft. Rucker Al. the fit or unfit will come back within 10 Days (working). I have been going threw this since June, my NARSUM completed October 25th, Unfit 5 Nov, and now waiting on a rating from VA in Washington State. When it comes back from Washington State back to San Antonio it has been said that I will receive the Rating within 10-15 Days and Orders have been taking up to 60 Days. That last part is just unheard of but that is the information that I am being told.

60 days????? That really screws up my timeline, this whole process has been irritating. I was given a P3 by my PCM in the middle of JUN, but it took until 25 JUL before the "approving authority" actually signed it. My QTC evals have been back since the end of SEP and I am being told that my NARSUM will not be done until this weekend. It drives me crazy because I read the timelines that other people post and they seem to going at warp speed compared to me. Thanks for the info!!

FINALLY!!!! My NARSUM is done..... almost, I was told it was completed, I got to read the copy my PEBLO sent me, it was only supposed to be done over a month ago... on top of that, the person I need to get final signature from before it goes to San Antonio is on leave until 19 DEC. Hurry up and wait. I think the hardest part of this entire process is the fact that you are in this state of limbo and never truly know how long it will take, there is nothing that makes you feel more stupid then telling an employer that you cannot go to work for them because when you put in the application 5 months ago that you thought you would be out by now and you have to decline the job offer. Probably stupid on my part for even thinking that, never should have put in any applications until I have orders in my hand.

QTC evaluations= 13 SEP 2011

Hurry up and wait!!

QTC evals: 25 May and 15 Jul 2011

NARSUM completed: ?

Rule #1: Do not make hard plans for anything until you have orders in hand.
Rule #2: This is not a foot race. The goal is to receive everything that you deserve. Not to get out fast, only to find out that you are going to miss out on a benifit you earned.

The time it takes for your case to be completed may seem long. Trust me when I tell you that your case is not taking longer than anyone else's.
To answer your 2nd question:
"If what I have been told is corect I will more than likely have at least 60%, what is a rough guesstimate of the benefits I will receive? Will I receive VA $$ and an Army pension, or just VA $$?"
VA 60% = $974
You maybe eligable for CRDP or CRSC depending on your case. For more info check out https:hrc.army.mil/site/crsc/index.html (army) call 1-866-281-3254 or talk to your VA rep.
