IDES TIMELINE NAS WHIDBEY ISLAND, WA

Man this hits hard. I know exactly how you feel. If you want, shoot me a dm. I have some good Facebook groups and additonal info that could help out. We're in the same boat

Between the cold shoulder from the PEBLO and working each day at my command (beyond mustering and handling admin) I feel very stuck and burnt out. I understand the process will come to an end at some point but this is the most daunting portion of my Naval career/Adult life, despite having effectively no responsibility beyond transitioning.

Fingers crossed the PEB has a strong week ahead to process folk
You’re not alone, VA case closed in August. But we must remember there are 3 holidays this time of year. With federal worker math we know that 1 holiday off = 10 days off or of doing nothing. So we’ve got about 30 days total that we need to factor in that they won’t be doing anything. Add in the “meh it’s Christmas time” attitude and we can add about 10 to that. Source, (I am friends with many federal workers and live in the DMV area) See you all in mid January!

I can confirm this, this is 100% accurate.

Legally speaking, it's the only person who can tell you the ratings. Mine sent me a screenshot of my proposed ratings letter.
Talked to my MSC, according to him it would be illegal for him to tell me and cannot, I have to wait for the findings to come in from my PEBLO. Figures, that's my luck. VA won't tell me either, I have tried several times and nothing.

I feel this I’m sorry you’re being worked around like that. My case has been done with the VA since sept and no word on anything other than bare minimum emails from my peblo. Work center is also burning me out having me work over time, pushing back on leave requests, burying recommendations from my ortho surgeon to reduce work load/hours it’s been a nightmare that feels never ending. But it will end that’s what I hold onto

Ugh. Sorry....

What can we even do at this point? The navy PEB is starting to SEVERELY affect the mental health of the sailors that are going through the IDES process.

Who is Jeff at the PEB lol. 2 weeks is right around Christmas and new years. Any real chance of findings being released has to happen this week. Or else I'll see y'all in January

Same situation for me, been waiting over 3 months now for from what I can see is supposed to be one of the fastest steps of the whole process. Also just as tired and burned out, just want out.

Nothing, it's the same old song and dance as our entire military careers, hurry up and wait for a machine that is broken, over worked, under staffed, under budget, convoluted beyond belief and bogged down by needless meetings and useless trainings. As JBnavy said, it will end. We may be skeletons when it does, but it will end.

Brutal.

"It will end", I'm holding out hope on that. My life expentancy with my condition is around 50 years old on average. Spending more than a calender year getting out of the military and being stuck in Whidbey Island, WA has been less than ideal. At least we're all in this together?

Damn brother that really sucks, cases with reduced life expectancy should get expedited if you ask me. Here's to hoping more than getting out that you live well past that age.

I don’t even know, I’m so confused on the whole navy side of this thing I signed my election of options back in August but also sent up a VARR that finished September 15th and now I’m just waiting ont he updated final findings but like I don’t have to sign off on these? I don’t know anymore, my IDES attorney said I should expect them this week but just now I got an email from my PEBLO saying she’s on vacation till January 13th so I don’t even know when I can expect to hear anything or what actions I have left to take. Literally nobody can give me a straight answer it’s ridiculous

You could try calling Jeff at the PEB. Apparently he doesn't bullshit and can get answers. 571 442 0592. I haven't called yet. I'm on the West Coast. It's already past 5pm at the PEB. I feel you man. After 11 months in IDES, and over a YEAR since my CVID diagnosis, I'm just tired. I want to retire already

I was sent to the peb before you. I'm not sure why I don't have findings yet. A little frustrating. I'm happy your process is over though. Enjoy the next chapter !!

I feel that I just had a full on panic attack this past week I’ve been virtually done closed out on the VA side just pending final findings and I got an email from VES saying I have more c&p exams. I thought I was being fully re evaluated but according to my ides council, MSc, and peblo they all swear it’s just an update to my claims because of the new Ingram laws and won’t hold up my case but at the same time my case is in a batch of others that all had VARRs submitted during the navy PEB shut down and they’re having trouble uploading them to the new system. I don’t even know if I believe them about the c&ps not holding me up but what can we do

This is true. I had to redue an exam due to Ingram. But the exam was scheduled after my ratings were already done. You can believe them, they are telling the truth. It's just to make the finalization easier for the VA once you get out

Thank you I’m sure you know how it feels not believing anything until it physically happens I just had to fly out on E-leave too got a sick mom so I’m just ready to be done

Just got the call, my findings are in, 70% DoD TDRL and 100% VA. Gonna head up in a few to go sign that I received them. So they are still working on them, I expected the results well into January with the holidays going on and all. My stuff was sent from the VA to the PEB for final alignment in early September.
