..next steps NARSUM and EMEB signing

I will update as things progress. And yes, I have a strange timeline since I was sent to a MEB/PEB after already receiving a naval message stating to return to medically unrestricted duty. If anyone else has seen this, I would love to hear your story about how it turned out, or if I am an odd outlier.

So another person posted this, sorry to tell you. they posted it today.
- I was given reputable information today that Navy (and USMC) PEB has had a large technical failure related to data storage and process work flow.

PEB has the capability to do boards, but there is currently no system to process cases, send or receive findings, transmit info to PERS/MMSR-4, or do internal admin.

If your case is anywhere post-IPEB hearing, my understanding is that you are currently at ALL STOP.

Now I will leave the realm of fact and go to supposition. I would expect delays in communication, between you and your PEBLO, but also your PEBLO and the PEB. There's most likely just not going to be any information while this casualty is in progress. Makes sense, right, if you don't know how long the system is going to be down, you have no idea how far back everything is going to be pushed.

I would personally expect that your command will not get an official notification of this. It is probably in your best interest to let your command know that there is a process delay, and you have no idea how long it's going to be at no one has control of it right now. Again, that is just an opinion, based on principles of good communication.

Also, I want to stress that this is not a personal failure. This is no one's fault, at least no one at PEB or PEBLO level. So my advice would be to try to handle this with as much grace as you can muster, and avoid alienating your PEBLO. Being a jerk to them isn't going to solve the software/system issue at another command.

I am sure this is going to add to some people's stress load, but I figured it was better to know and understand why you might start seeing delays, rather than just get frustrated and blame the people or the overall process. Best of luck to all of you.

I still have not signed my EMEB, I have an extension to the end of the month. Should be sent to the board beginning of OCT22. Lawyer said he has been seeing a 3 month turnaround once submitted.

Jump, i've been hurt for over a year and its hurting my mental state, I cant fly anymore and i cant do maintenance any more. Not trying to stay in and do nothing but paperwork for the next 2 years.

I hope it all works out for you. I will keep my timeline updated as it changes, or as I hear things. Good luck!

News on what, exactly?
On any trends with the timelines or how things might be going with the va and ebenefits websites and seeing the claims. I’m still waiting for the NARSUM from my physician so that I can sign everything to go to the PEB.

You Navy?

PEB timelines (in general) are dropping. They'll have some delays over the next couple months. VA timelines are all over the place, it seems.

I am, and I'll definitely try to stay patient especially during the next few months

Got an update y’all.. PEB is if not done, almost done. The weekly report didn’t come out when I talked to my IDES lawyer but it had been with the line officer and he said I was probably found unfit and should expect ratings in about 2 weeks!

Good morning,
Small update. I am not trying to get out as fast as many of ya'll, so for those of you who are trying to slow down the process....
I was successful requesting new VA exams be conducted after many were incomplete or downright incorrect. I have also requested a new NARSUM as it mentioned meds that I have never even taken.

Updated Timeline
4Feb21 diagnosed with Asthma
11Aug21 LIMDU
25Jan22 return to duty message (fit for full)
13Apr22 enrolled in DES (really caught me off guard since I was fit for full)
21Jun22 completed VA exams
8Aug22 VA rep said reports returned and sent to PEBLO
14Sep22 received documents from PEBLO and submitted appeal.
07Nov22 new VA exams conducted

Updates to follow!

As of last week my neurologist doc at naval hospital camp Pendleton said he was referring me to (peb). im already on limdu threw my pcp (52 area health clinic) but the doctor thats referring me to peb is the neurologist, how do i see if he has started the process and what should i be looking out for and how fast can i get this finished. anyone have a timeline i been on lld and limdu for over a year from a tbi and back issues

I know the Navy leans towards fit, but my updated VA exams are marked YES for "does condition impact ability to work?" and says I leave work early daily due to exacerbations.

I have been fighting to stay in, but my assumption is that I will not be retained due to this wording.....any thoughts, or experience from the guys who have been around a while?
