IDES Timeline

I'm active duty and I wanted to share my IDES timeline. I'm hoping to see if anyone has had a similar experience and may be able to share some resources or insights.

Timeline:
IRILO: 8 Aug
PEBLO Brief: 24 Aug
QTC appointments: 14-19 Sep
MEB results signed: 6 Oct
AFPC received: 6 Oct
VA ratings in progress(DRAS?): 2 Dec
VA req info from QTC: 8 Dec
VA recv'd QTC reply: 9 Dec

Based on the fact that I am in DRAS I'm guessing that I'm unfit for duty. I have been getting conflicting answers from my PEBLOs and MSC, if their timelines were accurate I would have had ratings in November. I only learned about the DRAS stage and VA request of documents from the VA 1-800 number.

I'm very stressed as I lined up a job that was supposed to start in the beginning of January. I am lucky that they were willing to push my start date by 4 weeks, but I am worried I will lose my dream job because the VA and PEB are moving slowly. I'm having trouble getting a hold of both my MSC and PEBLO, and both keep telling me it will be any day without actually giving me details about my case.

How likely am I to be able to start my job by the end of January 2023?

The biggest question you need to ask your peblo is if your case has a rater. My case went up to the va on Oct 27. I have yet to be assigned a rater. Also VeteransBenifits on reddit is a great place to also ask this question. May the odds be ever in your favor

Thanks for the advice! I do have a rater according to what I was told by the VA hotline. Hopefully you will get assigned one soon .

I had my apts back in august and am only now getting my ratings. I don't think you'll be able to start by January.

I just got my ratings back today and my case was sent to the IPEB on Oct 28
That's interesting, I signed my DAF 618 on 6 Oct and it was received on the same day according to an email I got. According to the VA they didn't start actually doing the final ratings until 2 Dec though.

Update: I got my retirement orders today! Does anyone know if I will receive DOD or VA retirement from IDES? My PEBLO is new and doesn't know.

You’re suppose to concur with your findings and either Sep with pay or Medically retiring with your PEBLO.

If you’re over 30% DOD and under 20 they give you which ever is greater in pay. So if your VA comp is more than what your DOD comp is then you’ll be be compensated from VA.

You got your orders in one day? My stuff came back the same day and I'm still waiting for orders.
