Army National Guard AGR so handled through active Army process. 20 good years, just over 15 active. No complaints whatsoever with QTC or their examiners; exams were scheduled and completed quickly, and the examiners were VERY good. Yes, I’m aware I lucked out. PEBLO communication was horrible, as were the delays in the PEB stage.

Anyway, here’s the top to bottom timeline, I hope it helps.

10 Apr P-3 initiated
11 Apr Referred for MEB
22 May MEB Initiated
24 June Case approved, assigned to Fort Eisenhower
24 June PEBLO 1st contact/counseling packet received
25 June PEBLO counseling complete
27 June Legal brief complete
02 July MSC first contact/claims submitted
03 July Exams Scheduled with QTC
08 July First Exam
24 July Last Exam (7 total exams)
27 July All DBQ’s uploaded to Tricare Online
30 July PEBLO sent packet to MEB
23 Aug NARSUM received, legal review
26 Aug NARSUM signed and returned
29 Aug Found unfit, claim sent to VA
22 Oct VA claim complete: Received proposed ratings
03 Dec DA 199 Received 100% DOD / 100% VA P&T

PDRL? If so you good. If TDRL make sure to continue to seek treatment through the VA. TDRL can change to 0% + severance if no treatment.

Congrats. I'm happy for you. I have a question. Where you able to get information on your PEB status from your PEBLO? Mine said basically it was pending final signature and that's all she would say. I was looking for her to tell me they found me unfit and all that remained was a final signature. She wouldn't budge. My understanding, from this PEB board, that she can see everything thats happening to my PEB packet. I'm not sure why she does not want to be forthcoming with information.

If your case is sent to the VA for ratings then you have been found unfit. They don’t rate people they’re returning to duty.

Is this claim very true or it depends
Im telling you this isn't true. They stopped doing this because of how long it takes the VA to return claims. Per my MSC/ VA rep they started rating everyone no matter what in the event the PEB finds you unfit. I was found unfit on 26 OCT and my case closed with the VA on 30 OCT. No way the VA rated me in 4 days. They initiated the ratings case in July when my MSC submitted the claim after my last exam uploaded to the system. Getting a rating from the VA is no longer a guarantee that you are unfit.

Unfortunately, I heard the same thing.

It is no reason to panic though. Statistics are in everyone's favor. If your NARSUM is submitted as UNFIT for a mental health condition you are more than 99% for sure being found UNFIT by the PEB. For "traditional" illnesses and injuries if you make it to the PEB you are also very likely going to be found UNFIT. The majority of the screening is done at your duty station by your providers before you are submitted to the PEB. The PEB is really just a bureaucratic formality to ensure you get appropriate benefits at separation.
