that means their was a backlog so they sent your claim somewhere different to get processed quicker
Not really, 9 times out of ten if you if its changed to prep for decision thats the indicator that the VA received your unfit memo so they can rate you claim, also when it does change you can call the 1800# or your PEBLO and the can look into the IDES and show if your fit unfit
What study did you get the 90% number from? From what many others have posted on here the 2-3 years I've been a member have demonstrated that there is no real rhyme or reason with Ebenefits. Is it accurate for some? Sure. Is it a chain yanker for most. For sure.
Calling the VA 1-800 number is often akin to watching paint dry or attending a circus. Can you get some good info from them? Sure, but a good portion of the time a call proves to be a waste of time.

For most here, this process is like a snowflake...no two are alike. What might work for one won't work for another. Use all the standerd methods (1-800 number, Ebennies, IRIS, PEBLO, etc.) and see what works for you. There is no right or wrong answer. Most find that you have to think outside the box to try to get things done, and that most government programs are inefficient at best. Good luck!

No Luck needed as i have had a smooth IDES process besides when the PEB system was down for a few weeks back in October, Also i dont base what i say sole on just soldiers that use this forum, and also the system 2-3 years ago isnt the same now, as you can tell timelines for the whole process are getting quicker
Also maybe you 1800# phone calls may be of no help but the right VA rep that knows the IDES can give you the info your looking for, yes their are some that still dont know how IDES works but most does
Yes ebennies can be confusing but one things for sure that if your in the prep for decision phase or pending approval then most likely your unfit
Am also attached to a WTB which has 80% of soldier in IDES and we all talk about our process so i have a pretty good understanding between soldier here and soldiers on this forum what seems to work and not work

I'm not going to argue who knows more than who...I really don't care (not worth arguing about)...just trying to contribute to others here and not give misinformation. My "good luck" statement was directed at others that are going through this process- not you specifically, however, we ALL could use luck whenever/wherever we can get it...if you don't want your share, I'm sure others here would take it.

i feel your pain, for some reason when they say it could take a year for IDES it went in one ear out the other but they are right in some cases, i finished in 7 months but they were long 7 months
The only official notification as to whether or not you were found fit or unfit will be when you receive your DA 199, signed by the PEB President or his his or her designee, which will have your PEB findings and your VA ratings. Unofficially, you will know if you were found unfit if you are told by your PEBLO or the PEB that your conditions were referred to the VA and are awaiting a rating. Only unfitting conditions are referred to the VA for a rating.
You should have your proposed rating no later than mid march
