IPEB AF Reservist

Hi again and thanks again to Jason for an earlier post.

I am an AF reservist 17+ good years (10 active duty) and just was placed on T4 "profile 4" last month pending decision from the IPEB at Randolph. I am currenly on a "no points, no pay" status and cannot participate in UTAs pending decision on a temporary "profile waiver" and the results of the IPEB. It has to do with my qualification for WWD.

There are two conditions, knee (torn medial meniscus) and lower lumbar back (disc degeneration) which were determined to be issues. Neither condition is duty-related and there is no LOD on file for either (nor do I want one).

Just curious what will happen now. When I did the paperwork, med group mentioned that I could go this route or simply retire early. I want to make sure that I am not endangering my age 60 pension by not electing to retire at 17 without PEB determination.

I was also told that PEB would look at the conditions and then at the "worst case scenarios" in my AFSC to determine fitness.

Any advice or experience with this process would be welcome!
