Irilo Appeal?

I got my results back from the Irilo, and they returned me to duty with deployment limitations. I wasn’t given my NARSUM and I’m pretty sure it failed to include several of my issues. Given the pain/mobility limitations I have I feel like it should have went to a MEB. The Air Force medical standards directory lists two of my conditions as retention issues. Is there any way to appeal this?

Nope. You never made it into IDES. The Air Force basically said you can do your job with some limitations that the AF is willing to accommodate. Keep seeking treatment and if your medical providers think that you have more limitations and can't do your job they will start the process all over again.

If your treating provider and commander are willing they can reach out directly to AFPC and discuss your case with the IRILO decision-maker and get your case changed.

Thanks for all the good info, I’m an 11s (special operations pilot) I’m active and I was put in code 37 at the start of the process. I had/still have a lisfranc injury, now I’m wondering what to do if I can’t deploy. I definitely don’t feel ready for combat….

A C code seems like a reasonable solution for now. They will re-evaluate every year with a RILO, if you are still having significant problems they might start the IDES process then. I don’t think they would try deploying you until then if you have a C code.

Appreciate the data. Considering your job/MAJCOM, I can’t say I’m entirely surprised you were returned to duty with an ALC.
