MEB for PTSD/MDD Initiated- Early December 2015
CC Letter signed- Late December
Got a copy of my narrative- Mid January
Contacted by VA Rep- 26 Jan
VA Appts- 12&17 Feb

To sum things up, I just want to get out. If I could I would forfeit everything to leave tomorrow. Does anyone have any tips or advice to make the process go faster? Also if I end up going inpaitent to deal with my stuff will this delay the MEB process if I got all my appts done?

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

From my experiences when in the DoD IDES process via an U.S. Army perspective, the IDES process continued when I had numerous voluntary admissions as an inpatient to both military and civilian mental healthcare hospitals.

Unfortunately, the DoD IDES process doesn't have any mechanisms for rapid transitioning to military disabled veteran status. As such, the DoD officially published timeline for AC military personnel within is 295 calendar days, and RC military personnel is 305 calendar days albeit some IDES case files are completed sooner while other IDES case files are completed later. Take care

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer!"

Best Wishes!

19 FEB 16- Signed paperwork to approve my NARSUM and to I think forward my package for review!

I'm only claiming 2 items (PTSD/MDD) so I'm hoping it will go by fast!

So you signed your AF FM 618? Now begins your big wait! Your package will go to the PEB and they will make a decision on fit/unfit. If you are found unfit they will send a memo to the VA and the VA will begin the work on your ratings for everything you claimed, which should take them about 15 days or less. After that they will send your ratings back to the PEB where the caseworker will apply the VA rating for your condition to only the unfitting condition. After this is done they will send it all back to your PEBLO where you will have the option to accept or deny and begin a FPEB.

My package was sent up on the 22nd of Dec, I was found unfit on 8 Jan, and the VA just finished my ratings on 17 Feb (it took them way longer than normal, they don't know why). Best of luck to you and hopefully this goes quickly for you! It seems like it is quicker for AF than the other branches.

So quick question, how reliable is ebenefits? I checked mine and it currently says "Review of Evidence" what exactly does that mean? Also my projected date of completion (according to ebenefits) is from July- December. I only have two DoD claims and 2 VA claims.

Y'all are probably going to hate me because I'm probably going to be asking alot of questions during the process. I'm just ready to get out and move on with life. You know?

I am right there with you. When I was waiting I check it every day. It changed to Pending Decision and I didn't hear anything. Then I received my unfit, DOD ratings and VA ratings. Now I am waiting for my orders and should be out very soon... guess what? It still says Pending Decision Approval. So I would take it with a grain of salt.

Just play the waiting game and stay in close contact with the PEBLO. I talked to him every week. I dont care if I am annoying... he doesn't care when your board finishes. He still gets paid. The squeaky gets oiled... or at least stays informed.

I'm a little bit confused.

My pueblo told me that the IPEB system says that my case is reviewed.
Ebenifits says that it is in the review of evidence stage but a second claim popped up. This new claim says that the type is misc and that it is perpetration for decision.

So I'm totally confused at where I'm at in the process right now. :(

They are separate processes, so try to look at them individually. Sounds like IPEB has made an unfit determination, and VA could be done with ratings. There have been a few folks posting that once they saw a second claim open, their initial claim was done or something. Hopefully someone else will chime in. This seems like a good sign, though. :)

How do I know if AFPC sent my packet to the VA?

There's nowhere to look unfortunately for AF. I called the VA myself, and some people find out through their PEBLO.

Thank you for your help! It means a lot to me. Sorry if I get annoying, all of this is just causing me anxiety like no other and I have bad anxiety problems to begin with.

No worries. I definitely understand. Promise.

So I am totally confused at this point.

I called Providence to get an update on the progress and the person I spoke to told me that the VA received my unfit letter on 2 March. Am I suppose to get a notification that I was found unfit or not? Last time my pueblo emailed me ( also on 2/3 March) she said I wouldn't find out until the ipeb was finished. I am so confused, but hopefully the VA is right?

Anyways the VA lady I spoke to today told me that I should hopefully get some information in 15 days! Also, the reason why I have a second claim is because they received a proposed rating from IDES. Hopefully that's a good sign!

The are alternate means of finding things out along the way, but telling you how it works by the book. Everything is supposed to come down all at once versus bits and pieces.

Those will references will help you understand the process.

Found out that the VA gave me my rating on Friday! 70%! Now to wait for my peblo to notify me to sign the paperwork!

I also completed TAP which I recommend anyone to do it online. It's so much easier.

How long does it take to get my DoD rating? It's been over a week since the VA gave me their rating. I'm just wondering since it seems like a lot of people have been having a 4-5 day turnaround

Texasaussie, how did you find out your VA rating before the official PEBLO notification where you sign for both? I'm currently waiting for my ratings and the VA said they finished on 31 Mar but they wouldn't tell me what the ratings were on the phone. I called my PEBLO but he said he wouldn't know until both ratings come back from IPEB. I'm just wondering how some people find out their VA ratings ahead of time.

I got lucky because the VA wanted to schedule another appointment for me for a separate claim that isn't part of my med board and the guy told me that I'm already at a 70% rating. I'm sure if you call Providence and ask them nicely they could tell you.

Still nothing from AFPC.... the VA sent their rating to AFPC on 25 MAR. The Wounded Warriors called me today and said that my meb was completed so idk where I'm at now. I'm just tired of waiting and getting no updates :(

Signed for my rating yesterday! 70% VA and 70% DOD! I'm really happy with it, now to get my orders!
