Is it worth it to get my regular retirement changed to medical? I was in the middle of an LOD/MEB when they forced me to retire regularly. I have all the paperwork, just want to know if it's even worth the time and effort. Thanks in advance

Can't tell you what would be better for you. Only you can make that decision. I will say that I can't think of anything you get from a medical retirement that you don't get from a regular retirement, but I can think of things like CRDP, that you get from a regular retirement that you don't get from a medical retirement.
If you have already earned a regular retirement there isn't much of a benefit. The most you can get is the value of your earned retirement + VA disability and you already get that if you earned a regular retirement and have a total VA disability rate of 50% or higher.
Not sure what branch you are in but in some branches you get no choice. You are presumed fit for duty if you can retire regularly. No need to clog up the system if you have reached the goal where you max out gross income.
I'm just not sure if I'm still angry, holding a grudge or what. At the end of my career I was an reservist on orders for a few years. I got into a bad accident and sustained frontal temporal lobe damage which incapacitated me for a long time. Iwas underwent a LOD and just started the process of an MEB, but my command didn't think I deserved the benefits from whatever it would do for me. My Captain was basically retaliating against me for a prior incident where I was a whistle blower. The day my MEB was supposed to start processing, he illegally had me retire without my due process. I have all the paperwork with the doctors stating that it was against regulations. I was unable to advocate for myself at the time. I had to pack up my office and had my retirement papers mailed to me. I'm still just trying to process everything. Thank you for your answer.
