MEB for Migraines/Functional Neurological Disorder

Hello,


Active Duty, 13.5 years in, had a neck adjustment on base at Physical Therapy last September, had stroke-like symptoms for a week, but no damage found on CT/MRI. Daily migraines with cognitive and physical deficits persistent to this day. Diagnosed with Migraine without Aura and Functional Neurological Disorder, being treated with Botox and Emgality, with minimal relief. IRILO came back for full MEB last week. Is there any such thing as a cut and dry MEB? My commander has already recommended me for non-retention. I do not intend to fight it, be it separation or retirement. When should I expect VA contact, and is there any way to track any of this as it happens?

Timeline:
4 Sep 2024: Code 37, IRILO initiated
14 Oct 2024: IRILO Package submitted
14 Nov 2024: Full MEB directed
 
Hi, I’m AD 7 years currently nearing the end of my MEB. I had a brain tumor removed last year and am being MEBd for Post craniotomy migraines. I’m also on emgality and Botox with little relief.

I had a lot of issues even getting the meb started tbh I don’t think there is a “cut and dry” meb but I’ve been wrong before.

I’ll keep you posted as I’m expecting ratings in the coming days/weeks hopefully.

If you are being kicked out due to migraines your rating should be at least 30%. Make sure to keep a headache calendar and review the VA's rating schedule for migraines to see where your symptoms compare to the %. The highest you can get is 50% which sucks. Should have higher % for the condition since they can render people 100% disabled in severe cases.
 
Tracking all and appreciate it. My attorney believes I should get 50 DOD/90 VA. Should be any day now so we’ll see!
