MEB help

I would suggest printing the above mentioned DBQ and perhaps taking it to your doctor to fill out. If all goes to worse you can always appeal if you feel theve not rated you correctly
so I recently had my C&P for my Narcolepsy and I am being MED boarded for it , I seen the exam noted from that Narcolepsy DBQ and he failed to mention the number of sleep attacks I have he just stated that I do have them , however in my record from my specialist its documented there and during my mental health exam I seen it was documented, do they look at only the DBQ or do they take everything into consideration?

From my experience they appeared to look at everything. I still fought for the DBQ to be filled out correctly. I called the Patient Advocate and she set me up with another appointment because they did not even give me the DBQ for Narc at first. Looking back I do not think it would've mattered either way. The VA's proposed rating report showed they read into my full medical record that the AF gave them, so I would assume if its in that record then they will see it and it will be taken into the rating consideration.

Oh ok nice yea man in my Narcolepsy DBQ he didn’t even mention how many times a week I have my sleep attacks he just mentioned that I do, he even checked the box that says I don’t have any minor seizures or episodes smh I’m hoping to get the 80% rating for it I don’t want to request another DBQ if it’s going to halt my process because the VA canceled all appointments until may 18th and I’m done with all my C&P exams now just waiting on the results

I have a mix between cataplexy, sleep attacks, and sleep drunkness, between the three it happens several times a day. It's the cataplectic episodes that are rated analogously with seizures. To get the 80% you have to have been observed having them several times. I believe it's any symptoms like sleep attack or cataplexy that counts as a seizure. But you have to have several of them I believe more then 10 a week to get 80%. For what it's worth I was rated 80% on just this one disorder, so its definitely not impossible, good luck.

Yea i was reading about that , all my medical documents have my physician and sleep doctor documenting me having 2-3 sleep attacks daily even with the medication , but I’m hoping for the best , thanks for the info!

What do they consider an observation? Does rem during an MSLT count as an observation for sleep attacks?
